There is a reason they didn't let Him play anymore last year. He could not figure out the zero blitz. Hell Phillip Rivers made fun of Him for it on Peyton, and Eli Monday night football.
It was not just his ankle. We've seen other Qbs play with way worse. Heck there are videos of him running in practice in a bunch of those games He couldn't play in.
It all good though....because if I'm correct ravens will be one less 2 worry about. They still are a well run organization....So they will never be truly out of it.

Most analysts compare Willis to Allen more than Jackson. Willis has a Josh Allen arm and is built like a RB so he can take the hits. I know people have concerns with his height but honestly, like wide receivers, I think that is over blown. The days of the quarterback hanging out inside the pocket are over for the foreseeable future. The modern NFL offense is all about the RPO and the play action bootleg. Height is less of a factor.

I don't disagree with you. 9 times out of 10 an RPO play will not result in the QB running, it will be a choice between a pass and a handoff/toss to a RB. However, the threat needs to be there from the QB. Another factor is the play action bootleg, it's a defense killer and again, the threat of the QB picking up meaningful yards needs to be there.

Howell I wouldn't mind at 20. Let him sit behind Mason, he will be #2 and Dobbs will be the 3. Send Haskins packing. Or trade him for an 8th rounder

Or bring in Mitch Trubisky and let him and Mason battle it out. He's a FA won't cost a draft pick. Prove it deal. Cap hit was only 2,5 M. Trubisky will be the starter.

Then they can focus on the trenches in the 1st or 2nd, With the Tuitt uncertainty they could go D Line. Or Center. I feel they will look outside for a center though move Green to guard and retain Hassenauer whos cap was only 780G last season and is a FA. That leaves Right Tackle. I like Dan Moore and believe he will only improve.

Plus they need an upgrade at the Strong Safety position and Receiver.

They finally are not backed up to the wall and have some dough to spend. Johnson will get a contract and I hope they retain Witherspoon as well. I don't know if they will sign Fitzpatrick this season let him play on the 5th year and then franchise him next season and then work out a deal.

If Tuitt gets released there will be savings. Stop with the secrets and get an answer. I feel for the guy but enough is enough.

 

i'm not sure what's changing in your mind but the last 3 SB's, heck more then that have not been won by this type of QB. that is the goal. it will be like the west coast offense, defenses will figure it out and a new sensation will come along. college and HS have been playing this style and the position is flooded with those types of player. it doesn't change the fact that a good passing qb that can use his legs when needed are the one's teams long for. smart, accurate, mobile. the grey matter means a lot. quick brain reaction to the defense is what makes a qb good. that may be your cup of tea blast but i'll take a guy that looks downfield and can hit his receivers out of a break and read a defense any day.

Mahomes is one of these QB's and won it 3 years ago.

The last 2 were one by Brady and Stafford, a dying breed of QB, however, the past 3 super bowls had one of these new generation QBs on their roster, Mahomes and Burrow.

How many pocket passers are left in the league? Any? The next several Super Bowls will be won by a mobile QB running RPOs and PA boot legs.

The year Mahomes won a SB he rushed for 218 yards all season. Burrows rushed for 118 yards all season this year. In comparison Peyton Manning has rushed for more 157 , and 148 yards in a season. Was P. Manning a New breed Qb also. LoL.
How about Mason Rudolph....He rushed for 53 yards in the one game ,and a Quarter he played last year...that's more than half of what Burrows did all year, and about a 1/4 of what Mahomes did His SB winning season. Is Mason Rudolph now a new breed Qb??? LoL
