Just heard that Carson Wentz might be available from Indianapolis. I know, I know, "Trade for
everyone!" But he has the tools, and Indie might be willing to trade a second-round pick.
Go ahead, tell me how stupid I am, but I think this might work. However, it would be 3 teams
    in 3 years. PitJax

    Locker room cancer.

Why on earth would Indy want to get rid of him if he was everything they had hoped for?

Carson kind of wilted at times, same thing he did in Philly.
    Foles got them the Ring.
He also turns the ball over a lot.

Trading anything for that contract at this point would be insane

If he is cut by the Colts and is willing to play for prove-it money then maybe he is worth bringing in. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing, injuries or something else but he is prone to absolutely horrendous performances at times. He was mostly above average in 2021 but was so bad in several games that it has led the Colts to looking elsewhere.

All he had to do was beat the 2-14 Jags to secure a playoff birth and he choked like a dog. No thanks.

    What's the cost?

I like adding him to the mix. He just had a really good season.... but I'm not over paying in a trade.

    3rd or 4th I'll bite

As much as don't want to defend anyone from NDSU I will say that Wentz is the classic example of a really good QB drafted higher than he should have been and then misused in the pro's. Instead of teaching him to play from the pocket and use his legs when he needed much like Burrow or Allen. Carson unfortunately thinks he is a LB and plays with reckless abandon that has led to injuries. Colts pulled the trigger because after Luck and then Brisset and Rivers. They are looking for another Luck instead of being thankful they have a QB with an arm. For a coach who built his rep as a QB whisperer it is sad that Riech can't get more out him. Really sad that the Colts are making Wentz the fall guy for their issues.

All that said I'd prefer him over Haskins but the injury history and lack of developing QB's on this team so I'd stay away.

Asides from the top tiered Rodgers and Wilson, this is as good as it gets for next year. There’s very little differentiation between Wentz and Trubisky, Winston, Marriota and even Garappolo

Only disagreed because Garapolo is a significantly better option than those you mentioned. He is below AR and RW and above guys like Wentz and Winston.

Maybe as stated above, I’d bite on a low end perhaps incentive laden prove it deal after him being cut… no trades.

Garappolo has a better supporting cast but I wouldn’t count on him to carry the team

    .

Shoot. That must have posted as a draft.

What I meant to say was he is below Rodgers and Wilson but above the rest.

I am not saying he can carry a team. But if you put a little line around him, he can lead an offense. He is light years ahead of Rudolph and Haskins. Light years ahead of Wentz as well IMO.

Hell to the no on Wentz. I'd rather have Fitzpatrick, Mariota, Tyrod T, Brissett or Bridgewater compete with Rudolph and Haskins.

Wentz is a choke machine and way too inconsistent. He has great games and then totally struggles when it counts.

Thanks, guys, I appreciate your sentiments. Sorry for the double post.
I used to live near Philadelphia, and I know most of Eagles fans thought Wentz could be fixed.

He doesn't need fixed so much as he needs refined. If you change who he is, he will be less effective, so they need to chip away the stuff holding him back and let the positive stuff become the norm.
