Are you talking about Ben? Damn man, did he kick your dog or something?

I’m sure the Bengals message board will welcome you with open arms!

Don`t remember for sure, but is this the guy whose punt was blocked against old man Montana`s KC team in the playoffs and cost us the game (set up Montana with short field with little time left)?

Uh, I differ having seen all his games. I remember him as having a weak leg and somewhat unreliable and overrated. Anybody else remember him like that or is it just me? Not saying terrible, but flawed and not deserving a fan club (gorillas) for sure.

You have to take it in context. Idk when the major shift started from traditional FG k to soccer style, I believe it started in the mid to late 60s, then soccer style was more prominent in the 70s, but the per centage and distance was still pretty low compared to today's k. Previously posted two of the best all time, Morten Andersen and our Gary Anderson battled for all time accuracy leaders when they played, they were both at or around 80 per cent.

Here's had a 60% career, horrible we would think, yet 2 of the best in that Era, Caro Yepremian was only 67 % the same as HoF kicker Jan Stenerud.

Humbly stand corrected . Went back and read his bio, you are correct. And he actually was not drafted in the expansion draft, he was granted permission to seek a contract with another team. In other words, see ya layer.

Kris Brown is one of my least favorite all time Steelers. Cowher stuck with him for way to long.

For kicker, it's hard not to go with Gary Andersen. I think Boz is close.

For punter, I like Josh Miller. He had some good years with the Pats after he left Pittsburgh. The punter position has been underwhelming and unstable since he left (Gardocki, Sepulveda, Berger, Ernster, Kapinos, McBriar, Wing, and Berry).

I really like jeh1856, but He does have a hate for Ben I don't understand.
He praises T. Bradshaw (whom I Love), but downs Ben.
He talks about Ben's 1st SB in his 2nd year, but won't say Bradshaw took 4 years 2 get to his 1st SB....in which He had a whole 9 completed passes for 96 yards, and 1 td. So Ben ,and Bradshaw both only score 1 td in their 1st SB.
Also leaves out How in Bradshaws 1st two years He had a total of 19 tds, and 46 ints. That's correct 19td, and 46 ints. With that being said how well do You think Bradshaw would have done in a SB if it was in His 2nd year? Since He only scored 1 td(same as Ben) in His 1st Sb in His 4th year.

Integrity, morals, ethics and personal character are more important to me than stats.

They are more important to me than anything.

Other people have different standards. This is not aimed at you.

Plus, without question Bradshaw had a better arm and will to win. His team also respected him.

I would love to have one too many beers with Bradshaw. I have no desire to meet Roethlisberger, and will avoid him if ever in the same place.

    It’s AB vs Lynn Swann.

I believe if Bradshaw was in today's spotlight You may think differently. I've heard His wife not say 2 great things about Him.

Gary Anderson and Craig Colquit. Although, Norm Johnson has honorable mention following a few vicious tackles he had on kick-off coverage.

    Very true.
My image of a little guy like Harris mouthing off at "Count Dracula" and getting punked by same, just sticks out very clear.
But you are 100% on the money, that was a nice play by a kicker no less. Very worthy.

Jeff Reed was the most colorful I do know that.

He made the headlines quite a few times.

The worst kicker in my lifetime as a Steeler fan has to be Gerela. I remember as a 9 year old yelling at the black and white TV ( yes we did not have a color TV back then ) that Gerela was horrible. The worst part was that Bobby Walden the punter was even more terrible. For me, my input as to the best kicker and punter are as follows:

Kicker - Matt Bahr, Gary Anderson and Chris Boswell. I think Bos will eventually be known as our best over time
Punter - Craig Colquitt, once we finally dumped Walden, Colquitt was a game changer, field changer and a welcome sight.

Apparently, you think a kicker has as much influence on the outcome of a game as a quarterback.

Swann wasn't even the best receiver on the team for much of his career. Stallworth surpassed him.

You do have a point that given the choice, I would much rather spend time with Bradshaw than Roethlisberger. I got to interview Bradshaw once, and he really is an interesting and funny guy. I just don't think that is relevant to evaluating the two quarterbacks as players.

Bradshaw had his issues, too. Even he would say that.

No, that’s not my point, please don’t twist things just to start another debate. It’s just that some people point that out as to why Ben deserves to be in the HOF. It isn’t, he has a whole resume of reasons he will get into the HOF.

Man I miss the days of cowher reeming Miller out on the sidelines after bad punts.
