Per alert from the Steelers app on my phone.

    WR coach from Carolina.

Weird. I wasn't aware that Ike Hilliard had been let go.

Looks like he has limited NFL coaching experience, 2020-2021 with the Panthers and 2017 with the Titans. Rest was all college.

Seems they wanted the Canada/Jackson connection. Hope it pays off.

Claypool regressed last season, and I’m sure that played a role in Hilliard not being retained.

That and not a single receiver could ever get any separation.

I don't disagree with the no contract extension but for what reason do they go out and hire a no name middle of the road collegiate coach from lower tiered schools?

I want a Hines Ward type hire, not an undrafted Cleveland Browns player who caught 40 passes for less than 500 yards and 1 TD over 4 seasons.

Are Barnum and Bailey officially running this team now? These major decisions lately are nothing short of mind boggling.

Steelers don't fire anyone anymore just wait till the contract is up.

    It's a no balls approach.

at the risk of painting a target on myself I have to say this.

Steeler's Fans be like: "We have to stop hiring from within, we need to find coaches outside the organization."

Steeler's go way way way outside the organization and hire a new WR's coach

Steeler's fans also "who the heck is this guy? Why did they hire a nobody without any experience."

We are a funny fickle group you have to give us that.

on the Hilliard not extended front the fact that he said when Juju went down the reason McCloud got more snaps was because he was the primary slot receivers back up and Hilliard hadn't prepared for anyone else to play there. It didn't occur to him to move the best route runner in DJ to the slot and place Claypool and Washington outside? That sort of coaching lapse might have played into it.

I've been told that the balls cost extra but that was by a friend of Robert Krafts.

I look at it this way. If you are going to hire a new car dealer for your Mercedes Benz line you don't go to Bob's Auto Mart to find your guy. This guy did 2 stints in the NFL for 1 year each time but otherwise coached for lower level colleges. That's not necessarily knocking it out of the park on this hire.

This is a start, more coaches need to be looked at other positions and of course the strength
and conditioning coach needs to go.

Fredo Rooney...Austin DC,Canada OC, No Munchak, Hunt will be GM...

Based on what? This team was atrocious and needed changes...............But let's go with the " same ole Steeler Way " BS...

Can't wait until the Fredo / Rooney combo are gone...This team will be a laughingstock because you're giving dumbass Popcorn more and more control...why?Based on what ? Performance?

    Long days ahead.....

This may not be a popular opinion but I'd make amends with Silverback and have him show these guys how to workout. Players these days get pushed around too easily.

Not only are they not strong and athletic, there have been far too many injuries
associated with poor player strength and development in this area. I think we
can do better, and we must. The best player is the available player, not someone on the IR.
My OL are lifting 250, 35reps. no iff ands or butts. We need a viable plan for everybody to be stronger and faster. And this must be gauged/metrics.

The WRs were seriously underwhelming this year so there’s really nothing to lose by changing the coach.

Ike wasn't very good at Washington.
Frisman is a connection with Canada, so there is familiarity.
Frisman was a very talented guy in HS and College but could not cut it in the NFL.
    "Those who can't do, teach."

But really, I see it an even swap at this point.
Steeler WR's have to step it up, so Frisman has to meet the challenge.

Note: Kind of a strange move on Frisman's part, he was glued to Rhule.

You'd be pained as well if you priced used disco balls in this market. :lolol:
