But He didn't get hurt on a routine Qb play. He actually got hurt playing us the week before. I promise. Go Look again. He got hurt running up the the sidelines, and then forced out.....where he then stepped on the 1st down chain marker. He grabbed His ankle. They just tried 2 let Him play in the next game, and realized He was no good without the ability 2 run, or they didn't want 2 admit He got hurt running the week before. I don't know the answer, but You can clearly see Him actually hurt it running against us near the end of the game.

And if 97% of women played Qb eventually a woman would win a SB.

Steelersrule6 you disagree with Me, but You were also the person who disagree with Me when I said Baker, Lamar, and Sam Darnold weren't any good.
    So what's that say?????

I know you like Willis and he really seems like a great kid. I wish him well in his NFL career. But I just hope the Steelers don’t get so enamored with his “potential” that they waste the next half decade trying to develop someone whose game won’t translate to the NFL.

I'm no fan of Baker or Lamar, when did you become an expert on QBs? The fact that you don't think Josh Allen is a good QB is laughable.

Pretty much exactly what You said when I said that about baker, Lamar, and Sam Darnold. No???
Would You like Me 2 bring up the post, and show it????
I didn't say I was an expert. So I guess I've been pretty lucky, or maybe I don't look beyond what's right in front of most, and try 2 make a big complicated deal out off it. Hell I don't know.
If I watch a guy that is a turnover machine in college....I know 97% of the time it will not get better in the NFL, but worse. If I see a guy in college only progress with 1, or 2 reads, and take off....97% of the time that will not get better in the NFL. If I see a guy in college every time he faces a big game, or a big challenge in college fail....97% of the time it won't get better in the NFL. Most look at arm strength, and speed .
To Me they are the last thing I look at. Also like I've said .....so far I've been lucky.

I agree. He does seem like a great kid, but that doesn't make a great Qb. Just a great human.

Which isn’t nearly as important as being a great quarterback.

No it's more important in the grand scheme of things. I could be His friend. I just don't want him as the Qb of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I think it comes down to how you define “running QB.” I consider a running QB to be a QB who needs to run on designed runs to be successful. Young and Wilson are not running QBs to me, they’re QBs who can run. Big distinction. But if it makes you feel better, I’ll call Young and Wilson running QBs and call Jackson a “running back that’s used by his team as a passer.” It’s long, but it sums it up.

I never said Bennett was great, I was just making a point he stepped up in the playoffs and beat Alabama.

I just read a mock draft that had Willis going to Washington at 11, and described him as a ‘67 Mustang Fastback that needs to be completely restored. It’s an interesting analogy.

So Allen isn’t a running QB? He doesn’t have to run to be successful.

Sorry but if you put up that kind of yardage, you are a running QB. Young took off plenty of times when he didn’t have to, same as Wilson.

You can call Jackson whatever you want :lolol:

I haven't looked, but I would bet the Year he won the His only SB was probably one of His lowest rushing yards. I also know He preaches 2 this day that He wasn't really any good until He learned 2 play from the pocket. Luckily for Him ....He got the chance 2 sit behind a Great player, and learn. In today's NFL He would be out of the NFL, or a back up in that amount of time. Because You basically have until Your 1st real contract comes up now.

I saw the same mock , seems to me a complete restoration is a lot of work and if the people doing it arnt qualified to do it, its all for nothing...lol

If 4 to 5 rushes a game makes you a rushing QB, then yes... they are. To but that in perspective, Ben averages over 2 rushes a game, so Steve Young runs TWICE as much as Ben, which is hardly at all. Wilson started out as more of a rushing QB, but is now much more of just a pocket passer (averaging 4.6 rushes per game in the last 6 seasons). There isn't much "designed run" going on there. Neither of them "running QB's".

Allen is much more of one than those two at over 6 per game. Jackson is over 10.5 rushes a game. Many of which are designed rushes. I would consider these guys running QB's.. Allen is more of a "QB who can run so well that they basically have to call designed runs" and Jackson is a "running QB that can throw well enough to do some damage if they over play the run".

I am fine with a QB that runs, but they have to be an electric runner. Josh Allen is that, Lamar is that in spades. Malik Willis does not strike me as that. He was okay, but he doesn't pop off the film to me (even on his rushing highlights) he strikes me more of a Jalen Hurts type runner instead of a Lamar Jackson human highlight reel. He will likely have to turn into a top tier passer like Allen and Wilson has. This is why Lamar is just outside the "Elite" category of QB's to me because he is just a mediocre passer to pair with the leagues best playmaker with his legs. That is the main hang up to me. I don't see Willis being anything more than "average" as a runner in the NFL. He will have to become a great passer. I don't see that happening, so that is why I am so bullish on not taking him.

The game is changing for sure. We will definitely see more QB's using their legs as a weapon the future. That doesn't mean we have to take a chance on Willis. Pickett, Howell, Corral, Ridder... all these guys can run well enough to be able to use that to their advantage (Strong is the only statue of the higher end of the class). They all fit that bill to me.

    Final QB Order

    1. Howell - Potential star ceiling. Baker Mayfield floor. Comparable: Russell Wilson
    2. Pickett - Potential top 10 QB ceiling. High end back up floor. Comparable: Kirk Cousins
    3. Corral - Average starting QB ceiling. Back up floor. Comparable: Teddy Bridgewater
    4. Willis - Average/Mediocre to below average starter ceiling. Huge bust floor. Like out of the league before rookie deal is over floor. Comparable: Terrelle Pryor
    5. Ridder - Mediocre to below average starter ceiling. Bust floor. Comparable: Tyrod Taylor
    6. Strong - Average back up ceiling. 3rd string/out of the league after rookie deal floor. Comparable: Mason Rudolph/Landry Jones
