He will probably never have a season like last year again, whoever signs him will be buying at the top of the market. No thanks

If he can get 9 mill... good for him

He is on my wish list.. but not at that price

I want him and Foye Oluokun from Atlanta

LOVE Patterson, I think he would be a perfect fit for our offense. However, at 30 years old I wouldn't want him at a 9 mil price tag. I would rather spend that 9 mil on Ryan Jensen at C or to bring Juju back. A back up RB/WR and starting return man doesn't net you 9 mil on a team that's trying to compete.

Can the Steelers use him the way Atlanta did is the bigger question. Considering Najee is the workhorse, he would strictly be a WR here. I don’t think he’d have the same success, Atlanta was great at scheming for him.

I think he would be a great compliment to Najee as well as WR and return man

He would get his touches... but not
    9 mill worth of touches

Patterson is an amazing football player, he is a swiss army knife... only player similar to him is deebo samuel. He would be a great addition to special teams and perfect for jet sweeps, having najee go out on routes and still having a "runner" in the backfield.

    He's 30.
    Been on 5 different teams
Didn't really have a great year till he got to Atlanta. (1yr/$3mil).
He is a guy that can run the ball and catch it.
I would imagine he's looking for a payday, that last one.
I'd probably pass to go with youth.

Juju is gone because we just have too many other needs. We can sign a bargain FA for far less than what he will demand plus we will most definitely be spending a premium draft pick on one. I was hoping Juju would come back to us as a discount but I think he's realizing staying in Pittsburgh with a new QB and this offense is a very stupid move professionally - even if the team did want him. There must have been some conversations with his agent and the team. Juju basically said good bye Pittsburgh this week. I personally think it's a mistake to just let him walk. It's tough enough for a new QB to succeed especially when your #1 WR has the hands of a cornerback.

Not much the team can do. They certainly aren’t going to tag him. I think you are exactly right, he has realised that this offence is going to be a work in progress for some time and he needs to get out. Don’t blame him

5-6mil each? they get close to double that in the open market. We would likely be getting other guys if that's our offer to them

I dont think so. They got what they got because of them being 1 year deals. They will get multiv year deals now with guaranteed money.

I could be wrong but we will see

A lot of people say how they don't want Ryan. Yet ignore how he made Patterson into a beast, while Tom Brady made Patterson look meh.

Jensen should be the priority, though I imagine he's going to cost a good bit more than $9 per year. He made more than that this past season in Tampa.

Possibly, but if you look at the other guys making about 5 mil a year its a bunch of nobodies. Keelan Cole, Kendrick Bourne, Jamaal Agnew. Juju just has a better resume. I get that he is coming off of injury and hasn't been as good as his first few years in the league, but I would be shocked if he came in less than 7-8 mil a year. I know guaranteed money has a lot to do with the contracts, but still. He's a good player and should at least get solid #2 money.

I meant that the 9mil would go towards Jensen. His last contract had him at a bit more than 10 mil a year. At 31 years old next season, does he get that much again? Possibly so. I would be weary throwing too much term at him though. I think a 4 year 8 mil/yr contract with more guarantees is probably better than a 3 year 10 mil/yr contract with less guaranteed money. I guess it just all depends.

He is good enough right now that I doubt he is taking a pay cut in free agency.

That wasn’t Ryan, that was Arthur Smith. 5 teams and no one knew how to use him. Smith was the only one with the balls to feature him and line him up all over the place, did a great job scheming him open.
