Do you take Mike Munchak back as the O-Line coach?

I figure he'd retire before moving

I would too, but how often does a coach return to a team that he once left?

I tend to listen to the words and not look for anything implied, if I’m in doubt, I get clarification

I’ve been wrong too many times with what I think people are implying or suggesting

to many people hate gotten me wrong because I like sarcasm

so I’ve learned to be Blount and to the point
That doesn’t always go ever well but we are all on the same page

    but I understand your point

I think it's probably another forgone conclusion that assistant Dan Morgan will get the OL coaching job. At least he actually is experienced and qualified.

It's definitely old school before pro football was a year long thing. Let's be honest even with rookie minicamp, OTA's and such there is a limit to what they can do because of the CBA. Could still swing it as a part time gig.

Bring him back as OL coach AND give him the added title of assistant head coach! Send a message to Tomlin that it’s time to stop muddling in mediocrity and start contending in the post season!

I feel like Morgan will get the job. I get the sense there was a disconnect with Klemm running things. I think he was bullish on Green, at least Morgan saw this benched him. Steelers must have felt the same way, because Klemm’s departure came at such a weird time.

He did, when he left. He’s 62 now, I’m guessing he retires.

    https://247sports.com/nfl/pittsburg...plains-reason-for-leaving-Steelers-127869439/

“It was a family decision all the way,” Munchak said “This was all about family from the beginning. If my daughter lived here, I wouldn’t have taken any head coaching interviews. I’d rather be a line coach here than a head coach anywhere else, other than family.”

“It was a very, very hard decision because I love it here, I love the Rooneys, the way they run the organization,’’ he said. “Coach Tomlin has been awesome, I love working for him. I could see myself working for him until I retired. The offensive linemen are special. It was really a great thing.”

“It wasn’t just the job [with the Broncos], it was more the location and to have a chance to continue to work, which I love doing, and have your family there too is just a huge draw.”

Offer a promotion to DC and maybe he'd sniff at the opportunity before probably rejecting it. You never know though. JMO>

He wouldn't get the DC job, offer him assistant HC and OL coach positions.

    Coaching is in his blood.

    Grandkids are his blood.

    He will stay in Denver.

Why would he come back and coach under a guy like Canada. Munchak knows more about football before he eats breakfast than Canada has learned all his life

Funny stuff coming out of Denver via Green Bay.

New head coach Hacket of the Broncos tried to hire Green Bay's O-Line coach, Adam Stenivich to be their new OC, but was denied because the packers were able to promote him to their vacant OC position. Then he made an offer WR coach Jason Vrable, but Green Bay denied his request again. It is now rumored that Hacket is making another OC offer to Green Bay's TE coach Justin Outten. With Klint Kubiak going to Denver to serve under Justin Outten.

Have not hear anything about the Steelers filling their offensive line coach yet.

Any you never know what being unemployed and around your family constantly can do to a man.

And just keep in mind that all of this is going on before Denver has even held their Team auction. Just wait until auction winner Jeff Bezos takes over the team!

Is this a direct quote? It's hard to read because of the errors and random incomplete thoughts.

He was a head coach with Titans many years back and it didn't turn out so well. Regardless nobody has considered him for an HC position since. He did a great job with our o-line yes, but this hero worship for him from so many people I find bizarre.

Are you saying become the oline coach with the Broncos again? Because he already was that.

Yes I remember. He wasn't given a fair shake at building a good team. Pretty sure we hired him right after that stint.

OP suggested he may not want to stay there without a promotion to assistant HC.

I feel the same way as you do btw, he is a good coach by all accounts but there are other good OLine coaches out there as well and this continual pining for him to come back is unnecessary.

The mistake they made since he left was underinvestment in personnel coupled with this practice of promoting coaches from within with no serious consideration for outside candidates. If they did a proper search for a proven NFL caliber OLine coach after he left there would be no issue.
