Yep you're right pushing an defensive player to the ground from behind isn't a penalty.

Funny… they finally throw a flag on an obvious Bengals penalty when it’s obvious that it will be declined.

this is true. Mahomes had plenty of time to see there was nothing and to throw it away.

I keep going back to the end of the first half. Andy was arrogant and thought no big deal if we don't score here, we will score 3 or 4 more TD's anyway.

    it isn’t

    http://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/image/rulebook/pdfs/15_Rule12_Player_Conduct.pdf

    article 4, paragraph b

    definition of close line play

    Close Line Play
Although in all other cases it is illegal, clipping is allowed in what is referred to as “close line play.” The close line is the area between the positions traditionally occupied by the offensive tackles. It extends out three yards on each separate side of the line of scrimmage. In this area it is legal to clip above the knee. In close line play, clipping is permitted because players on both sides of the ball are fighting for position against each other simultaneously, so the ability to perform the act is equal. Clipping is allowed in close line play because it serves as a useful tactic in pass-blocking.

Clipping can be committed by any position on the field: offense, defense, or special teams. The result is a 15-yard penalty, and an automatic first down for the offense if committed by the defense.

In that first half, Chiefs receivers were always hit in stride and rarely just standing there. Either great routes, lousy defense, too much speed, or Mahomes is throwing them open. Fun to see.

It feels like the tide has turned. KC is struggling offensively, but we all know it won't last.
KC will find their footing again at some point this game
