Yep, not happening. Ownership gets off on being able to say they’ve only had 3 HC’s in 50+ years.

    Has that changed since 2019?

    This article is from 2019
Is It Possible to Trade a Head Coach in the NFL? (sportscasting.com)
The league’s anti-tampering policy states that “clubs are not permitted to exchange draft choices or cash for the release of individuals who are under contract to another organization,” but it includes a provision that excludes head coaches and other “high-level club employees” from that prohibition.

High-level employees are defined as club presidents, general managers, and other personnel with equivalent authority or responsibility. That means that yes, coaches, GMs, and other high-ranking team officials can indeed be traded.

Thank you for that but I see that head coaches can not be traded while they are under contract with another organization so that is why we have not seen a head coach get traded since Gruden got traded to the Buccaneers

And that trade cost the Raiders a Super Bowl win.

It will prob be in house, but it’s terrible because Tomlin just gets more control. They should fire Canada and bring in new OC and DC to change things up

Weren't people here refusing to believe a report months ago that Butler never called defensive signals?

Meanwhile Bengals fans are cheering at laughing at the fact the Steelers will likely make Teryl Austin their next DC.

It is a nice thought but Butler should know better since Roethlisberger is past his prime, Butler should have retired last year but Butler had one hell of a run! Thank you Mr. Butler for everything and enjoy retirement!

This did not answer my question.

Edit: Also, LeBeau was 71 when he lead the best defense in the league and we won a Super Bowl. He was 73 when we went to another. Wade does not need to go out there and make tackles. He does not even need be on the sidelines since Tomlin will be calling the plays. I just want his brain and what his scheme brings to the table. Even if we just bring him in as a defensive assistant it would be a great addition. This guy tormented Brady in an AFC Championship game and held him to 13 points in a SB and you just say "Nah, he's 70 somethin'"???

I mean it's good that Tomlin is confident I guess, but if he thought this team was a Super Bowl contender, then he's quite delusional.

No other teams are interested in hiring Wade, there's plenty of younger available DC's.

You still have not answered the question of what the maximum allowable age is.

Who cares what every other team in the league does not do? Every team makes the same bad decisions by passing on future superstars in the draft every year. It does not make it the right decision.

"there's plenty of younger available DC's."
Because as we all know: Youth is the most important factor to coordinating a defense.
Which of those young DC's locked Tom Brady down twice in the postseason? Name them. Also, those guys are going to want to be head coaches eventually and look to build a resume. The odds that they come here, where they will not even call the plays, is low.

What would be the point of having a Wade Phillips here for one or two seasons on a Steelers team likely without a franchise level starting QB? He'll pickup and leave as well.

it was pathetic , the whole Tuitt debacle. that hurt a great deal. If they are both back in body and in MIND next year, we can have a stout front 7, by finding one stud ILB (draft or FA).

Did you seriously just ask me what is the point of getting better? It is not like when Wade leaves (which we have no idea when that will be) he will whip out a Men In Black neuralizer and wipe everyone's memories.
