very encouraging to read after years of we are going to do what we do. Although in my opinion they aren't going to change a huge portion of the playbook more like just finding the 15- 20 plays that Lefty is really comfortable with and can run at a high level. Then finding 15-20 that he is just comfortable with and sprinkle them in there. It is my hope that they don't plan to change the passing game to a more vertical threat because even though the Ravens CB's are hurting there is still Ed Reed lurking back there looking for a pick. Although I can see them runnig some deep routes just to clear out the middle for Heath and the RB's in the screen game, exploit how overly aggressive Suggs is.

I think you are right but I do think they will take some more shots down the field with that cannon Lefty has, especially if we are running the ball successfully.

They will definitely take some shots down the field. That's actually when Lefty is at his best, the medium to long throws. The short passing game isn't one of his strengths.

he's going to have to throw to get them out of the box, so we can run. we don't want him in all those 3rd and 4 pluses. ben has been very good at it this year. byron won't be That good. we have had to make alot more 3rd down plays in this offense every week. he will need to loosen that up alittle. byron will get his med. to long game going best on 1st and 2nd with play action. passing to the backs i hope he's worked on too. they need to use will johnson a little more. he's a mismatch out there. cotchery may have a good day, he should be covered by the low man on the totum pole. safeties will have to cover wallace and sanders over the top. medium range should be will j. , cotch and heath. all mismatches. c'mon defense. play solid and we win this.:dancing::cool:

Are they also going to put pine tar mixed with gorilla glue on Wallace's gloves?:facepalm:

Just make it a difficult catch and he's sure to come down with it! it's the easy ones he seems to drop.

so they are going to call the offense based on the strengths of who is playing...I agree with the article, how refreshing compared to where we were before.

Well they did adjust it but I don't think it did the job so well. Now a lot of people are saying Batch couldn't have done better. The ravens pass rush was too much and so on but I will have to disagree based on the major differences in the passing motions for Batch and Leftwich. I think Batch could have utilized the short passing attack and screens very well given some of the pass protection that we saw tonight. Lefty just looked uncomfortable throwing it at anything less than a 15 yard route. When he did it looked awkward as hell or was telegraphed way in advance and let them jump up and make a play. You can only adjust your playcalling so much when you have an offense geared and working on different principles than what your QB's strengths are.

He has problems with the arc of the ball. One pass in particular it needed to be up and drop in, but he roped it with his "strong arm" and it was knocked away by the DB.

The playbook until Ben returns should include using the dang running game and quit messing around with a backup made of glass holding on to the ball too long, swinging the arm back too far (it's only a matter of time until someone gets to Leftwich and knocks it loose when he's winding up), and gasping long passes to Wallace who couldn't seem to catch a fly with flypaper lately. Honestly, three running backs ready to go last night all whom have had 100+ yard games recently? We had no business putting that ball in the air.
