Is it just me or did the "rebuild" start after 2011?

Theres never been a rebuild and aren’t in one now. Rebuild to me means blowing up the team and starting over.

Steelers just retool, same as most teams that have a good winning percentage.

Jace Sternberger was a guy I wanted the Steelers to draft a few years ago.

Did he just not work out in Green Bay?

Not much to get excited about with this list which is pretty much normal on futures. Practice squad players at best. Archibong on the DL seems interesting but I don't know much about him. Pridgeon looks the part for OT but hadn't stuck with Texans or browns. Gilliam is a practice squad guy. Side note: not that this means anything now but my son used to regularly pancake him back in peewee football days lol.

    You don't rebuild with futures.

we have different definitions of the word. When a HOF Franchise QB retires and there is not Plan B or C for that matter, you are rebuilding.

Agreed. I won't start calling it a "Rebuild" until Pittsburgh starts trading away some of its high priced talent.

When you start seeing Super Stars walk at the door for high draft picks, then it is time to say your team is rebuilding.

We be in rebuild mode until we land the next good franchise guy.
Look at all the remaining NFL playoff teams, 3/4 of them all have really good QBs.

A great QB makes everyone else better, takes average talents and elevates them to good, takes good talent, and elevates it to elite.

Get enough of it to be elite, you contend for Super Bowls.

Replacing one person, big shoes as they may be, is not a rebuild. Different definitions as you say, I guess.

Doesn't the #1 seed in the AFC have a starting QB that could have been had for a bag of rocks a few years ago.

On March 15, 2019, the Dolphins traded Tannehill and a sixth-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2020 draft and a seventh-round selection in the 2019 draft

Thats hilarious. A team with no headcoach and ownership that's selling the team sign a punter 2 weeks after their season ended. Hope he is renting.

It doesn't matter now because he will fill the quota on the Steelers having at least one "Berger." This will make up for maybe Colbert's most glaring oversight- not signing Zach Mettenberger as the 3rd string QB for good luck in 2016. We had the Super Bowl that year and Colbert blew it. The more Bergers the better. You don't over think it you just sign them.

Have they ever had someone go from a futures contract to a member of the 53 roster?

why is it hilarious? I know a lot of people around here refuse to accept that it’s the general manager that builds the team, but the proof is in the pudding as they say.

The Broncos are currently in a holding pattern. If we assume Elway and his staff are indeed building their team before hiring a coach it is essentially putting the cart before the horse or announcing you are having venison before you gone hunting. So picking up a punter to be practice squad or futures before their is a staff to evaluate him is funny.
