Love this. Feel the same way. And really what's the other option? Drive everyone else nuts with nonstop negativity and complaining to people that have no control over what you're complaining about?

That's an amazing stat when you consider the teams of the 80s.

Someone actually pointed a finger at the almighty #7 for a change!

And that brings me to my next point. I keep reading the Steelers are headed for the dark ages without Ben Roethlisberger, but what exactly has it been around here for the past decade with him?

Yes, he has been magical at times. But the bottom line is he, too, shares in the Steelers playoff ineptitude of late. And he, too, has been below the line in the games that count the most.
I’ve said it many times - the Steelers would be well on the road back to being a contender if they hadn’t wasted the last three years acquiescing to an aging overpriced quarterback whose skill set was clearly diminishing.”

Sometimes I wonder how many burner accounts are on this board, LOL!!!

@strummerfan Do you remember the days before Ben? It didn't matter how good the run game or defense was...dude is an all time great QB, average QB's do not win the Superbowl. He was playing fine before his injury, before the other B's bailed like chumps. You were gonna cut him immediately after that injury? ... foolish.

praising tomlin for not having a losing season is like praising your child for passing a grade with a C- average.

I don't get your gripe with this thread, man. Mac posted a link to a local radio jock's assessment and the title of the thread basically says, I agree with this guy and cosign. And rather than me regurge what he wrote by copying and pasting the entire article, here's the link, go read it for yourself.

I felt like it was a good read and I agree with Mac and the author. In fact, I appreciate Mac for sharing the link because I probably would never have seen it if he or someone else didn't post it here.

No it’s not. It’s an appreciation of the full body of work. Or applauding someone for going to a really tough college and never having a failing grade while a good percentage of the other students have an F.
Also so you changed your username from Maddog to master of puppets?

Again it’s not the content. It was the way it was presented.

    Potayto potahto.

Some of us are ok with how it was presented. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it's wrong.

    Lighten up Francis.

Tomlins crutch (Ben) is gone. It won’t take 10 years. If the Steelers go 5 more years without a playoff win (10 total) he will not have his contract renewed.

That's a bad take. Anyone who thinks Ben was the driving impetus of a dink and dunk offense hasn't been paying attention at any point during his career, Also, just last year the Steelers scored 26 points per game and 37 in the playoffs. Was the offense really the problem until just this year?!

This year the offense was terrible and Tomlin is bringing back the OC allegedly.

The defense is giving up 40 points a game in the playoffs. This is going back to the AFC Championship Game in 2017. I don't care if we do get Russell Wilson he can't win with this defense.

If Ben was the problem then we should be dominant next year. Anyone believe that?!

You say a l0t of stupid crap, but that last sentence takes the cake.
No. It’s spot on. Ben was a large part of the problem the last two years. The dink and dunk offense wasn’t new to 2021. It was the same last year. It worked until the Titans gshowed the league the blueprint on how to deal with noodle arm.

The Steelers were 9-7-1 and you are telling me that the problem holding them back is leaving. Why won't they improve?! Won't they be 11-6 or better?

I don't feel like I said something stupid.

How come Mason/Duck only went 8-8 with a top 5 defense but Ben went 9-7 with the 20th defense? And how come Mason tied the 0-8 Lions?

The Steelers don’t lose playoff games any more, they get blasted in them.
