He worked so hard and did so much better on the dropped passes, then the last few games he it has started again. His moves Sunday were incredible, just hoping he can hold the ball this week.

His concentration lapses are frustrating, fumble against Detroit and Kansas City.

Have to agree....He's sort of #1 by default...I just don't see him as being in the same class as a Jamar Chase, Devante Adams or Stefan Diggs...like guys who can really take over a game. I just don't look at him as being a AB player in his prime.

Well hopefully one of those guys this Sunday is Sorenson and it's like 1.5 defenders.

Diggs finished with about 60 more yards and 2 more TD’s.

Diontae did it on this team and not on Buffalo, GB and Cincy.

How does anyone watch this guy run routes and not think he is a #1

The other thing is Diggs costs $14M and Diontae $1M on his rookie deal. Way better value and freed up money for Watt etc. I get that the Steelers cycle through WR to keep costs down but Diontae will get another contract if he can limit his drops and fumbles no doubt.

Just wait until we have a QB that can zip the ball down the field again.

He is great at accelerating and creating separation downfield, unfortunately the Steelers do not have a QB that can ZING it in there to exploit this.

Stefan Diggs is Diontae's best comparison.

AB is one of the greatest receivers in NFL history definitely top 10 all-time. Not really fair to 3rd year Diontae when he is ahead of where AB was after 3 seasons. I always thought of Diontae as the next AB in terms of skill set similarity but don't expect 110, 1500 and 12 every year.

Which he did, he didn’t have a single drop until late in the season. Think he is around 3 drops now.

idk...maybe Ben is the problem but im trying to think back to a game that stands out where Diontae really was the man....you know what I'm saying??? Like Jamar Chase was in the Chiefs game. I don't think he's even been announced as the Steelers Player of the week. it's sort of like you know he's there but no signature moments that i can remember...like kick in the door moment??

Johnson has elite, #1 receiver separation. In the NFL, that's like a QBs accuracy. If you are accurate, you can be deficient in a few areas and still be elite.

No, he hasn’t had those types of games but he has been over 100 yards 3 times and came close 3 other games with 90+ yards.

I imagine it’s pretty hard to have those monster games when your offense is geared towards 6 yards adot.

I think that he went over 1,000 yards centered around that type of offense is pretty impressive actually.

It is more than that, something like five in the last five games.

Watch how bad he make as these defenders look. Crucial plays in the game, too.

Blast I hate this topic, I truly hate it. Its not Tom Brady level but definitely the level of BBQ vs Sloppy Joe in Minnesota hatred.

That's the foot steps. He was hearing them as opposed to blocking them out earlier in the season. If the season ended last week for them I think he holds on to it more.

Name 32 receivers better than Diontae Johnson. It needs to be unanimous that he is a #1.

His catch % needs to come up. He needs to secure the catch and ball better than he is. He's not the best red zone target.

But he is a number 1 already and hasn't peaked. He's still a couple seasons from his prime years.

This could happen to the Steelers this weekend too since Sorenson is too busy watching the backfield instead of his man. Jackson and Allen have the ability to run the ball. IF the Steeler's D is watching Mahomes and leaving their man it will happen

I think a lot of that is because he is schemed or game planned out of being a threat. IF they had Washington and Claypool on the outside driving deep with Harris on a wheel route and Muth on a seam it forces them to leave DJ with only a linebacker on him in the slot or forces a safety to cover him leaving 1 on 1 for someone else. Unfortunately Ben's play on those types of plays has been inconsistent. Ben of five years ago would have DJ going to the probowl and being considered elite at this time.

That’s still among the best in the league. Ja’Marr Chase has 9.
