I think so, but unless he is going to take over for Colbert, I imagine he's going to go.

Omar has interviewed several times for different GM jobs but never gets hired.

I think a lot of these teams are after big football talent evaluators and not cap gurus.

Omar is the cap guru for sure, but has always been passed on and not hired.

But, with the rumor of Colbert retiring. Brandon Hunt seems to have the inside track in the organization over Omar.

I'm guessing that is because the Steelers value the football talent evaluator side to the cap guru. But, Kahn, has worked some magic over the years for the Steelers.

But, I guess if Hunt get the Steelers GM or Director of Football Operations job, Kahn will want to move to a different organization because he may feel slighted. But who knows maybe he gets the GM job in Chicago. He has put his time in, he probably deserves a shot with someone.

From everyone I have talked to, the Steelers seem to value Hunt over Kahn for Colbert's job replacement.

I personally think if the Steelers grant Khan permission, Brandon Hunt is the man...If they deny, it's Brandon Hunt...

All things equal...If it came down to a choice between a talent evaluator and a cap Guru, I'm going talent evaluator ( we build through the draft )

Get the next MBA from Harvard to crunch numbers IMO

Agreed. Every team needs a cap guru and Khan is supposed to be a very good one, but a GM has to be a talent evaluator first.

    My father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate...

Just generally people who do Steelers media work.. (primarily Ed Bouchette and Gerry Dulac) that there generally a feeling that the Steelers brass think very highly of Brandon Hunt

Khan started out as a scout so he is not without experience and he is also involved with the draft process.

If they grant him permission to interview with the Bears however, pretty good sign they are going with Hunt.

Being a cap guru, shouldn’t he wear one? It looks like he’s freezing in that photo.

There’s also the possibility that he’s passed on some job offers, not wanting to leave a good situation.

Didn't get hired or didn't get an offer? I think the number of teams inquiring about interviewing over the years suggests there is interest but he could be asking for more than they are offering or it's a lateral move with no real benefit so he declines. We(the board) had this same discussion after Munch was fired in Tennessee and ppl were suggesting bringing him in to coach the oline. Many felt he was a headcoach why take a position lower than that. One reason is you're good at it and the pressure headcoaches are under is hard.

I recall Omar declining a job offer last year or two to stay with the steelers? It appeared at that time Omar would be the next man in charge. Maybe my memory is foggy but I thought something like that occurred. You don't decline a job promotion that you interviewed for unless you were given some assurances. maybe something changed in the past year? Maybe Omar wants MT gone?

It seems that Kahn knows he would not be in the running for the GM position with the Steelers.
