I agree. People keep praising Lamar Jackson’s talent, but his first thought is to pull it down and run with the ball.

Agreed. Franchise QBs especially ones like Watson don't come around often. You can go generations and never get one. 4 first rounders is not too much to give up.

Madison Rudolpho is not going to be the Steelers starter next year. There will be a lot of B- quarterbacks that will be available this off season that they get bring in that would give them some shot of winning every week.

Zimmer fired as well as the GM, big shake up expected with the team.

Lot of speculation they move Cousins.

There is not a veteran QB worth trading for. If they are proven Pro Bowl QBs, then the cost would be too great. We would not be able to provide the supporting cast around them due to what it took to trade for them. If it is a free agent pickup, there is a reason they are a free agent and would not be much of an upgrade if any over our current stable of QBs.

I don't hate idea of Cousins. I definitely want a QB with cache.

I don't really want to go with Rudolph, but if the option is him or some journeyman like Ryan Fitzpatick, I will take Rudolph.

do not waste draft capital trading for a marginal QB. those picks are too valuable for the amount of holes we need to fill. sign a vet to compete with rudolph. if someone's there in the draft, take him.. if not, don't reach, wait until next year. he's not going to come in and start anyhow based on where we'll be picking and who will be remaining on th eboard.

Steelers shouldn't waste a draft pick on a QB, IMO. QB talent is not there this year. Just roll with Rudolph, Haskins and pick up a free agent with starter experience.

This was the same beef with Switzer yet Ray’s Ray’s catch was instrumental in them winning the game.

The whole offense is a short passing game now so it’s even a worse beef than it used to be.

I've seen some early mock drafts with Howell in the second round, but I'm not sure those mean much.

I’d be very surprised. Reminds me of the mocks that have Lance going in the second. He went top five.

I think Ray Ray is capable of making more plays than Switzer ever was.

Last year was weird, with so many disruptions and limits on scouting due to COVID.

Also, Howell regressed this past season. Perhaps he can reverse the trend, but his stock seems to be going in the wrong direction.

There is a lot to shake out between now and then.

i'm thinking from a colbert perspective. he wants to make that pick before he leaves. he looked at howell early. if we go by him looking at players at the sr. bowl he usually makes the pick of them in past years. his initial looks seem to be where he stays close to. not always but a lot of the time. strong has the arm but can't run. he has size though. just have a feeling that is where he goes.

I know Howell didn't have the same talent he had in 2020, but he struggled this season, and his lack of height would worry me.

Are you crazy? He hasnt won anything at NFL level yet. Alex Smith has a better record than him. Plus he has a history of character issues.

He’s not the size the Steelers like but I don’t see them passing on him if he is somehow miraculously still on the board when we pick. He can do it all.

I feel like I remember the Steelers being very interested in Cousins in the 2012 draft. But I could be mis-remembering.

I think I like Howell the best of the current crop of QB's. If we end up with Howell, I wouldn't be upset at all. He is on the shorter end, but he has a much higher release than "swatted at the LOS" Mayfield and is an exceptional runner and can move around in the pocket to get lanes. He has a nice arm, looks to be able to push the ball downfield, strong enough arm to hit the tough throws.... idk. He seems like someone we should be interested in. Kinda a Russell Wilson style player (not saying he will be as good as Wilson, just stylistically).

Pickett is a nice player too, but the whole "one year wonder" thing worries me a bit. Idk. He doesn't have as impressive of an arm or movement ability as Howell, but he seems to be accurate and athletic enough. Maybe a young Andy Dalton type. Corral and Ridder scare me a bit as their issues tend to be accuracy from what I saw, and the Malik Willis experiment would either work out great, or cost the franchise a half decade of sucking. I don't see an in between. He is either an electric playmaker who learns to throw, or a guy that turns it over 3-4 times a game and has you breaking things in your house lol. They would have to build the offense around him and we would have to stick with it for a few years to make sure we dont short change it... If it fails we blow the entire offense up and then have to start over fresh (like new coaches, coordinators, players, etc.).

Rewatching the catch from yesterday, I have to give Ray Ray kudos for understanding the situation at hand. He was close to the first down marker when he caught it then he simply back pedaled to get addition insurance yardage. Switzer would have danced around and lose a couple
