Just saw on Good Morning Football they are 8-0-1 when they allow fewer then 24 points. So there is something too that and is the key. The Steelers are gonna need an effort defensively like they had in the season opener in Buffalo and in the game in Cleveland on Halloween if they are gonna have any chance to win this game in KC on Sunday night. Come after Mahomes and don’t stop and go no huddle to start the game. It’s gonna take thinking outside the box by Tomlin to win this game. Playing this game conservative and not to lose will get them beat by another 25-30 point by this Chiefs team much like it did 3 weeks ago.

That old saying, 'defense wins Championships" is really gonna be needed. I can't our offense being able to score TD's.

Raiders had no reason to kick it at the end but they did. Jax had no reason to win either but they did lol

    it’s like Buffalo in 2015

If by a miracle Steelers beat Chiefs.... they get the Titans in the divisional. For some reason, Steelers match up well vs. the Titans.

Agree, and before Mahomes, we did as well against KC. Right now, I don't know anything except anything is possible.

That reason is: Ryan Tannehill, the untimely turnover machine.

Key to this game for the D is consistent QB pressure with four. Mahomes is all-world against the blitz. He's actually pretty average against zone when teams can apply pressure with 4. Underlying requirement...stop the run. They'll have no chance if they don't get the chiefs off schedule for down and distance. If they can do this consistently, they'll give themselves a chance.

Offensively, they have to possess the ball, convert 3rd downs, and keep field position in the Steelers favor. (and score points...but if they don't even possess the ball, it'll look like the last game.)

The D hasn't been great...especially against the run. But, it's been made to look worse due to the inability of the offense to sustain drives. Not even score, just flip field position consistently.

Roethlsiberger is 12-0 in the playoffs when he has to score fewer than 20 points to win! Let's go!

Any qb will look pedestrian if you get pressured with 4 constantly

Right...which is why I suggested it was a key. The assumption is a great QB is great regardless of scheme. It's not true. The greats have a kryptonite...and it's zone with pressure. See Brady vs Giant SB losses.

People just assume Mahomes is great and is unstoppable. He's not. Not saying the Burgh win...just pointing out there only chance really is the approach I suggested. Some QBs actually excell vs zone even with facing pressure with 4. Cam Newton in his prime was the best zone beating QB. There's data to support this. So yes, pressure with 4 can slow even the best QBs. But there are those who can and will beat it consistently..and even excel in those circumstances. Mahomes is middle of the road when seeing pressure with 4 consistently is what I was pointing out.

They only way Steelers win games in wreaking havoc on QBs and sacking them, and also forcing turnovers and in the hopes that a game in within reach in the 4th Quarter.

32nd against the Run, last in the league.

    26th in Rushing Off.

    -53 in point differential

    But made the playoffs.....

so your saying he 1-9 in playoffs when he has to score more than 20 points to win? That’s hardly the stuff of legends. And good luck keeping KC under 20 at home.

Chiefs have come out flat several times this season. It could happen vs. Steelers. It's only way Steelers have a snowball's chance.

As the Raiders' instragram posted last night- "It's NOT 'Just Tie, Baby'".
Teams win games they have no vested interest in winning because they are professionals, and they have pride. And the smartest thing the NFL has done the last week is making it all inter-divisional games. There's no love lost there.

It’s not gonna be easy for KC to beat and blowout the same team within a 3 week span as well like they did with the Steelers on Dec 26th. We just don’t see that very often and I don’t think we see it here. This Steelers defense I think lead by Cam and TJ and even Minkah and Haden will play better in this game and Ben will leave it all on the field as well. I keep hearing Chiefs fans and other random fans saying the Chiefs are glad they got the Steelers and this is gonna be like a bye week for them. All I’ll say to that is be careful what you wish for.

Is Henry expected back for playoffs? They've done very well without him but his presence would be killer if he returns to form. JMHO.

Agree. It's pro sports. Both sides are getting paid. If I'm remembering correctly, Haden didn't play the last go round against KC. Not saying he's the lynchpin...but when you've got plenty of issues as a team you need all your bullets against good teams.
