This is kind of a pointless argument, Left will start because there's a reason that Batch has been inactive all season... but I wonder if Batch would fit Todd Haley's quick-strike dink-and-dunk offense better?

Not sure why Batch would be better. Any QB can get rid of the ball quickly given the right plays and players.

6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other. But hey Steel weren't you there last night? I was thinking you were. Did you have a good time?

Come on Lefty is well known for having the slowest release in the NFL.

Was there a mass exodus from the stadium or did people just not come out to the game at all? I was mad about how empty the stands looked last night. That's an embarrassment on a nationally televised game for a fanbase that prides itself on its hardcoreness.

Is there any other option available?

I personally like Batch better, but I'm sure the coaches will make the right choice.

We may see both before the game is over.

I think if we would've had Batch active last night he would've seen some action after Lefty got his bell rung on his first drop back.

So if he knows he has to get rid of the ball fast, he'll just have to start his 20 second wind up as soon as the ball is snapped.

Maybe Haley can help him with his delivery just like he helped Ben with his scrambling. I know I'm probably grasping at straws but still.

Everytime I see Lefty throw I feel like I'm watching a cartoon. Gimme Batch.

Just a idea , but i say start Lefty then pull him after one series and put in batch,... that way the Ravens will be preparing for lefty all week then when gameday comes (SURPRISE  ) .

Doesn't really matter. With Ben out, for the Steelers to win this game they will need to pound the ground game and play more agressive on defense. First team to 16 points wins this game IMO. Not liking our chances with either of these guys.

Whats Tommy Maddox doing these days? How bout Korkie? Sad, but I would have more confidence in either of these two than I have in Lefty or Batch, but if I have to choose. I would go with Charlie.

It's sad that for a team of our caliber and the qb we have, our backup is Lefty, and while I respect Batch, he's older and not ready to play. So that's all we got?

Maybe we should've tried to get Colt McCoy??? I would say that if anything this will make a backup qb a priority this year. It was probably gonna be anyway with Batch on the way out but now I hope we try and get someone of Matt Hasselbeck's caliber. I think he's the best backup in the leauge.

I like Colt, is he still on Cleveland or did they dump him? Anyway, I saw a piece last year on back up QB's on ESPN and Steelers were said to have the best ones. Batch and Lefty are pretty good and have done well for us in that roll. If we had to ride one for the rest of the season, we'd be sunk but I like our chances for a short term.

I feel more comfortable with Charlie for some reason. Will he be active in case in needs to replace Leftwich? He wasn't active on Monday and I'm not sure why. I thought maybe he had been injured. Does anyone know? Sorry, I just haven't kept up with his situation.

    *sigh*

Wish we could go with neither. I have never understood our resistance to picking up a decent backup QB with how often we lose Ben every season. Leftwich should have retired a few years ago, and has never produced for us, and while I love Batch as a player, he's just too old (he'd make a great coach though!). I think this answer for this weekend, our only viable option, is pound that ground game.
