Charlie or Lefty? I have more faith in Charlie.

Ill take Lefty with a week of snaps in practice and a game plan more in line with his abilities.

A gameplan more inline with his abilities would be chucking the playbook and going back to BA ball where they can air it out if they give him a clean pocket to step into his long delivery. I don't see it happening with the Ravens, maybe the Browns. I'd rather trust Cb to manage a game and make the short throws they have been making all year and working the screen game against Suggs and his overaggressive nature.

What are these abilities that you speak of. He has no finesse, no touch on the ball. We will need to get back to our short passing game to keep the ravens off balance. I think Charlie gives us the best chance. Its Unfortunate we even have to have this discussion. We shall see soon enough I guess.

    Remember this -

The Ravens have been giving up gobs of yards all year- even to guys like Weeden and Carson. Give Lefty a week of practice. I bet Ed Reed's shoulder hurts more than Ben's.

They have been giving up yards but so had lots the Titans and the Raiders and they struggled against those teams. I would much rather have someone who can dump it short to avoid the rush and you know it will be coming then Lefty who seemed very wooden back there. Say what you will about back- I'm sorry Leftwich was in no way shape or form ready to come into that game. Tomlin's big thing is the standard is the standard well Left was subpar in his preparedness for this game.

Please Steelers get Charlie ready to play and to start in Ben's absence,
he gives us the best chance to compete. He is 10 times more accurate
    than Leftwich.

Lets be realistic here. With Ben and everyone healthy and playing, our chances of beating the Rat turds was 50/50. They got our number recently. What are the odds now, minus Ben and Clark, 10%? If you thought the KC game was a slopfest, you ain't seen nothing.

I love Charlie. But Leftwich is the guy. He was rusty, but as the game went on he got better and more comfortable in the pocket. The nice thing about Lefty is that he has a cannon of an arm, look at how he over threw Wallace. Give him a week of practice with the 1st team, better weather conditions and I think he will improve, the main thing he has to watch is Turnovers, we don't produce enough of them on defense so you can't have any on offense to have a shot against the Ravens.

Charlie Batch is a much better manager of the game! Leftwich's delivery is just really odd and he has no idea how to look off the defender- you know EXACTLY where he is going to throw the ball every time. I am praying we at least get Clark and AB back...if not- we are screwed.

I thought tomlin always said he puts in whoever he things gives us a better chance of winning.... well if we look back at when ben was suspended 4 games.. charlie started the game against the ravens.. we had them beat til the final drive when the D gave us a long TD drive... also charlie was 3-1 while ben was suspended.. his only looss to the ravens on that last minute long TD drive..
odds of winnign with a healthy ben 60% - odds of winning with charlie 25% - odds of winning with leftwich less than 10 %

if we dont get clark back.. even if ben is 100% we will LOSE without clark as we do every game at denver when he doesnt play.. to me clark is the most importamt D player and ben the most important O player

To answer the thread question........... Lefty.

Both he and Batch are vets, both can read defenses and both can throw the rock. Charlie is better short to mid-range throws and Lefty better mid-range to deep. Haley will be controlling the game plan and play calling so it comes down to this. Lefty needs more time to wind up and throw and Batch needs more time to stay alive. Face it, one solid hit by any of those DL or LBers and Batch is finished so we might as well give Lefty the week of preparation with the starters and he'll look better than he did last night.

Its our best chance of winning, that and a heavy dose of the run game and solid "D"!!!!

I'd go with Batch. Lefty is OK, but I've always sensed that Charlie has more stability and more of a calm coolness on the field than I've seen with Lefty.

Leftwich is the official number 2 backup QB, thats why Batch wasnt activated for this game last night: Lefty didnt do anything that would indicate he should be replaced with Batch as the 2, so this is a moot subject, Leftwich will be the satrter sunday, unless he gets hurt in practice, he is the starter..........

next year we should find a young qb to be in the mix , since ben somehow manage to have an injurie every year we can'T rely to injurie prone veterans , one is enough the other has to be a young healthy above average qb

I like going with Lefty and use Batch as a backup. Batch is proven, but I believe there's more big play ability with Lefty in there working with a cannon for an arm. Lefty showed us he can hit the mid range, when necessary. I hope Haley keeps in his ear about the check-down.

Also, it would be nice if Polamalu, Clark, Brown and Mendy can play.

I would go with Lefty. They just need to remember he isn't out there to win the game for us, just not lose it for us. He can make all the throws, but will end up on his backside more cause he isn't as elusive.
