After he retires do you think he will continue to live in Pittsburgh or move back to his hometown?

He said after the game that even though he was born in Ohio, the Pittsburgh area will always be his home now.

What he says and what he does are very different things. I'm not saying he's disingenuous or anything either. It's easy to say that in the heat of the moment.

Having said that I believe Ashley is from the area, right? If so, he probably sticks around. At least for a few years.

He’ll stay. He likes it here. His wife is from here and doubt he wants to uproot his kids.

I have an Uncle who is an Eagles fan... he keeps on saying someone is going to offer Ben a boat load of money to play somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure this is Ben's last year. It makes you wonder though ... if some team with a lot of sunshine knocks on the door with a blank check...

    What is his answer?

No one is offering Ben a boatload of money. He would probably take it if they did but no one will.

    Ditto

His children are 9, 7 & 5. His wife won’t want to move them.

His wife also has a good career here with UPMC.

Years ago Mark Bruner moved in as a neighbor. I asked my wife if she knew the difference between his house and our? I said he paid cash.

Before that speech after the game I was saying Ben was going to Denver next year to make a run with Munch and Fich.

But now, that sure sounded like it is retirement for Ben.

If I were him with all that money and really liked Pittsburgh I'd still be a Florida or Hawaiian snow bird. Semi kidding aside. I'm sure he will stay in Pittsburgh. His wife is from the Hickory area and I'm sure school and grand parenting is very important to them.

I think he'll stay here and raise his family. He's not far from his childhood home. And with the money he has, he can travel to wherever, whenever.

I agree. At least until the kids are grown. In all reality....with having that much money, and multiple Houses. Where is Home really???

    Has Ben said he's retiring?
He did say all signs pointed to this being his last game at Heinz. He more or less said it's because the team hasn't offered him a new contract. I haven't seen him say he's retiring though.

People keep pointing out he hasn’t used that word but after Monday it’s pretty obvious he knows this is his last season.

I agree but I'd like to hear it instead of the word games everyone is playing.

He brought his family and friends to the stadium for the last home game. It’s still the season. You don’t announce your retirement while it’s still in season.

He will at a nice press conference of his choosing.

Since his wife is from here and his kids go to school here, I imagine he'll be staying in Pittsburgh for the longhaul. Perhaps after his kids graduate he heads to Florida or somewhere warm. Who knows.

I'm not convinced. If he's offered a starting job somewhere else, I think there's a very realistic chance he takes it. He hasn't once said he's retiring, not that I'm aware of anyway. Why not say it if it's happening?

He knows he's done in Pittsburgh which explains Monday night, but doesn't necessarily mean he's retiring. I guess we'll see what he says after next week

Lots of players do. Lemieux did. Bettis did.
Star players very typically announce their retirement, assuming they go out on their own terms
