I wonder how the fans and season would have played out if Ben announced at the beginning of the season this would be his last? I fondly recall Bettis' last tour, and the team played it's heart out for him.

2005 team was the closest team I have ever seen in sports. I'm sure there have been others during the history of sports, but watching all 16 games and all 4 post season games, I have never seen that much care for each other by a team in my life.

The 2005 Super Bowl team won the title that year for 1 guy and no one cared how, they just wanted that one man to go out a champion. It was beautiful to watch and the 2005 SB team should always be celebrated for their selflessness that was unmatched.

Bus didn’t announce retirement until he was on the podium.

pretty sure he told the team after the 2004 playoff loss, then was convinced to come back for one more ride. Team knew it was his final season

I'm glad we at least saw it once in our lives. 2008 season was the most fun I ever had watching football, but the 2005 team is my favorite just because that team truly embodied a team.

I would bring the 3 Bs back for one more ride. That’s right, go get AB but have him secluded to his own corner of the locker room lol. Get Bell, when he’s released, and he will be, at the end of the season.

Picture the banners throughout Da Burgh and the announcers and NFL promoting it. Picture the MNF ratings and viewership.

Promo it as “Return of the Killer Bs (get it?), Be there in 22!

Update: AB reaching out for the reunion I spoke about? Huh huh huh!

I don’t think Ben was considering this to be his last season, I think he came to that conclusion during the year.

I just can’t see Ben passing on a farewell tour if he knew it would be his last season.

True believer Ben had the teams to get 4 rings like Bradshaw did. I know Ben may not have been the best SB QB but I am now blaming Tomlin for having a more talented team then the opposition but not having the ability to get them prepared.
