All the first round graded ILBs got drafted before the Steelers pick that year, some of them didn't pan out, if the Steelers drafted Rashaan Evans, or Vander Esch they might be in the same situation they're in with Edmunds. All three guys had their 5th year option declined by their teams.

    Should have taken Nick Chubb!!!!

IMHO best back in the league.

Come on..make him feel good? The same lack of confidence can be given to thec20 plus teams that passed Marino and Roger's, or the holy times past 100 Brady was passed. It's a crap shoot..you win some, you lose some.

They thought Bell was coming back at that point but I’d agree Chubb would have been a better pick than Edmunds

It's not just your opinion, Chubb is the man. He wasn't even a first rd pick ironically enough, even though he has it all over some first rd rb's I can think of.

I love watching him. He's my favorite rb since Frank Gore retired. lol

A first round running back? Are you kidding me? The one we have is breaking all the Steelers rookie records and there are still a half dozen threads about how he sucks.

Edmunds wasn’t a first round player, but that didn’t stop the Steelers from reaching to take him there.

Meh, sometimes you take a shot. Brady wasn't rated that highly and you can go back and hindsight that to the ends of the earth.

Fact is he fell into the perfect place for him to thrive and if he doesn't have Drew Bledsoe win that play-off game for him and the tuck rule, who knows how he would have developed?

You put him on the Jets or Detroit what does he do?

The Steelers like players with bloodlines, Edmunds played at a power 5 school, he also was a size/speed athlete which is why they probably reached for him.

I'd have to lie to do that, so learn to live with disappointment. :)

I don't see a debate. Everyone agrees that Leonard is a better player than Edmunds and would have been a better pick.

The only two All-Pros in the 2018 draft selected after Edmunds who were not ST are Fred Warner and Darius Leonard. It wasn't a strong draft. The Steelers are much worse at finding LB late than they used to be.

Guys who cover the team and know more than you, said Leonard wasn't going to be their pick in the first round, if you had a clue you would know the Steelers tendencies in the first round.

Yeah it's hindsight. I'm just saying that even with hindsight there weren't hardly any players to miss on.

Rodgers though was in the convo for the 1st pick and in the end he still was a 1st rd pick. Marino did get passed on but that was by Elway, Kelly, Dickerson, etc.. a few hall of famers. Brady no one saw coming his measurables didn't add up to what he became. Mason though you could see from college wouldn't be a great pro.

It’s not in his DNA, no matter how wrong he is. Many of us have wasted time with logical responses in that regard.

Agree, there is zero to debate
Leonard is a stud n Edmunds is serviceable at BEST

Worse than reaching for Burn vs taking Howard, IMO
