A few years back, we had a decent defense, a HOF QB, one of the best receivers in the league, the best running back, a good offensive line and we couldn't do crap in the playoffs. Whose fault was that?

Which year? In 2017, that was no longer even a decent defense in the playoffs. They fell apart when they lost Shazier. Blame whoever built a defense so reliant on one player with no viable depth behind him. Blame a lifetime of coaches for never getting Shazier to stop leading with the top of his helmet when he launched himself at running backs. Blame Keith Butler for being a ****ty defensive coordinator and never really adjusting to the loss of Shazier.

Yes, put some of that on Tomlin. Put some on Roethlisberger, too, for not taking care of the ball as the Steelers got in a big hole against the Jaguars.

Once again I've read those two stories and a couple of others and while the phrases last home game in Pittsburgh, last home for the Steelers, last regular season home game are used very carefully. What none of them have in them is the phrase this will be my final season in the NFL or the Ravens game will be my final game as a pro. It seems very strange that while it's implied he is retiring or at least inferred it isn't being said.

How many players 2 games prior to the end of the year with a team fighting for a playoff spot said I'm calling it quits? I don't think he could make it any more obvious this is his final year without specifically saying it. The competitor in him won't allow him to say it, but I'm fairly sure it will be a quick retirement decision potentially after the ravens game if they are not in the playoffs.

I've been told this before when this came up a few weeks ago. There is nothing to be lost by saying this is it. For reporters it is just click bait to say last game in a Steelers uniform so that people read the article. For Ben saying it out loud changes nothing.

They don't but it's far harder for a defender to impact the game stats wise than a qb. That's why a qb is considered the most valuable. No matter what they will effect the game they have to touch the ball. A defender could have been avoided or schemed away from the whole game. You can't scheme a qb away from the ball.

Ask Bruce Arians if he likes the risk taker jameis Winston over the more careful guy Brady.

Can't compare a defender to a qb in regard to awards. And actually TJ Watt ha seen first team all pro multiple times. Ben has never even been second team.

They lost Woodson, driver, etc.. they had plenty of injuries too. Rodgers was just on another level that day.

I try to keep telling you people that Ben is going to Denver next year to be reunited with Mike Munchak and Randy Fichtner.

Well, I for one am pleasantly surprised by Ben's career. I never thought a kid from Miami U of Ohio would ever amount to this good of a player. I would thank him for his many years of contributions (good and maddeningly bad at times). But by letting the elephant out of the room..... I hope his teammates can rally up and put together two amazing games to end the regular season (with hopes of a playoff run). Better not see a single dropped pass, or missed block.

    Hahahahahaha.
It could be He was 72- 72, or that He threw 34 more ints than tds.
LoL. Why do You even ask????? You trying 2 compare Him 2 someone that has thrown 207 more TD's than ints, or 164- 82- 1 record.

LoL. You act like Brady walked in ,and that was all that was changed. Over 20 different players on that Bucs team compared 2 the other. I don't know about You ,but 2 me that's a lot. Had Brady been the only Addition....then You could say something.

Lesser talent can beat better talent if the lesser talent works harder and smarter than the better talent.

Big Ben is more talented from a physical standpoint than Rodgers and Brady.

However Big Ben never worked hard. He just used his gifts. He went to the perfect team at the time and was able to sneak in a couple Super Bowl wins.

It's over. He will announce his official retirement after the season is done.

As I have done in the past I thank him for being a big part of 2 Super Bowl Championships. He should have won the MVP in Super Bowl XL.

Makes you wonder if he had hit a few different receivers on that final drive if he would have been chosen rather than Holmes.
