Rodgers isn’t coming here. Why would he? If he leaves Green Bay he can pick a better option.

    Pickett is MR.2

Our next quarterback isn’t going to be on our team next year.

This is hypothetical for me, nothing else.
I said in my previous post I don't think getting Rodgers is realistic at all.
He's not coming here and we're not giving up what would be required to get him.
I still have a hard time believing GB will get rid of him. How can they? They are one of the SB favourites because of him. With Jordan Love they probably don't make the playoffs. They would have to be the dumbest team in the league to get rid of him, although all my friends who are Packers fans believe their GM is an idiot. If you look at the way they have drafted over the years, Packers fans have plenty to complain about. They really haven't given Rodgers any help

What about Ben throwing a 4 yard pass to end the first half when we needed to go 70 yards.

The standard is the standard unless it involves holding players or coaches accountable.

22 year old Ben couldn't succeed behind this line and THAT Ben took a 6-10 team with a shaky offensive line into the championship game the following season.

I didn't get a chance to see the 2nd half due to grandkids attention spans, but I did scan the tv a few times and saw MR actually in the game. Was this due to Ben getting hurt or did he actually get pulled from a lost cause? Curious as I think I remember MT saying something about pulling starters earlier saying the players needed the work or something to that effect.

Bull****. They could get Carr and that would get us several 9-8 seasons.

There's a lot of assuming on here that Rodgers would even want to come to Pittsburgh.....

Ben either needs to retire or be retired. It’s that simple. He’s done. He’s a statue in the pocket and the OL needs a complete turnover. Even MR in limited action yesterday showed a little escapability. Ben has ZERO escapability. He’s given us a lot of great years, but it’s over.

Ok, back to my thread. I agree with what someone on this thread go with MR while rebuilding. Forget Rodgers we would be getting a old man whose days are numbered.

Ben will finish the year. Then walk away and mutter to himself "I should have gone out with Pouncey".

The Tomlin crutch will be gone. What now O' great Popcorn? Best you send Goofy Butler packing and give the reins to an outside guy and tend to head coaching business period because your not going nowhere and will get a vote of confidence by Art II. Canada I can see going either way. I feel they will give him another year.

It pains me to see this once proud franchise spiraling downward. It needs a house cleaning. The whole winning season stuff is cute but this team has not been relevant in a playoff chase for some time. And their will be some down years coming up. Just don't feel that Tomlin can right the ship.

That would be the same Mason Rudolph that tied the Detroit Lions? ... just checking.

And some around here seem to think his stint in the Lions game was the only body of evidence we have on him - which is insane. News flash - he isn't that good. Like at all. He's got wonky mechanics, and he has zero pocket awareness. The only thing MR would bring us would be a league record in sacks allowed.

Right? Rudolph tied the Detroit Lions who started the season 0-10-1. 16 points against the 25th best defense.

Where is the upside in disrespecting the second best QB in Steelers history to start Rudolph?

I agree Ben gives the best chance to win, and it is the right thing to start him.

Not only that Rodgers isn't leaving GB. When asked about leaving Rodgers said "That's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I play QB for the greatest football organization in sports history. This is the last time I will address this not just now but going forward. Matthew Stafford and Patrick Mahomes don't have to deal with these rumors."

People do understand that Rudolph is a pretty boy 3rd stringer at best.

I mean the people who would start this guy are just attracted to him nothing more!
