I saw that on the Pat McAfee show and I was thinking I wonder if they qualify for covid relief from the government. :roflmao:

The players should sue their own union for incompetence for coming to an agreement that allowed the league to not pay the players on either team in case of a forfeit.

You know I wonder if the union had to go in and look at contracts this year since players sign deals with language pertaining to a 16 game schedule vs the new 17 game schedule.

So basically it's a zero sum that they are out.

Denver had 1 QB with a positive test and the other 2 QB's were out for close contact. Browns had 20+ players with covid. apples to oranges

I wasn't trying to compare the two just pointing out that the league moved the game for the Browns this season while not canceling or moving a game last season when one of the most important positions had to be filled by a WR. There is no consistency. While having 20 players testing positive would certainly hamper the Browns ability to field a competitive team not having a pro level QB definitely knee capped the Broncos.

Player position has nothing to do with it. Its different because of the amount of players involved. Thats why GB and the Steelers both played with out their QB this year.

53 man roster 16 practice squad players and 20 players(position or skill level doesn't matter) testing positive and the Browns couldn't play on Saturday as planned?

Sure there's consistency, you're just ignoring it.
The NFL avoids postponing games if possible. If 1 or 2 players are out, it's full speed ahead. When it's 20 players, that's a completely different story. At that point it's not even realistic to hold the game. That's just too many people out. So yeah, the consistency is simple. If they feel they can hold the game, they will. If they don't feel it's realistic, they won't.

The NFL is the only league that hasn't outright canceled games. Every other pro league has lost dozens of games since this pandemic started. The NFL has the tightest schedule to work with and still somehow has avoided canceling any games. They should be given credit if anything.

The not being able to field a team is BS

The Browns had the same number of players Monday as they had Saturday

two players were added to the list and two players came off the list. Takk McKinley and Wyatt Teller are back while counterparts in their position groups took their places... .. and they fielded a team

Now imagine Derek Carr was healthy Saturday but then tested positive Monday morning.

You play when its scheduled... with who ever you got.... end of story

    But that's just my opinion

What if Brady loses and everybody sees him throw a fit and cry? That would warm my soul, LOL.

I hope not. Wasn't the added roster increase made for this kind of outbreak?
Team building and planning should have been considered. Make teams forfeit if they
can't line a team up. Maybe they will plan and be more disciplined?

As long as it's not the Pats he loses too. Would like to go to my death at least tied for most SB's.

Yep. What happens if the game is postponed to Tuesday because of the Chiefs’ C19 issues, but then 20 Steelers get placed into C19 protocol Monday? If the game is canceled Tuesday for that scenario, is it a Steelers forfeit even though the Steelers would have been good to go Sunday?

Why am I having a flashback to the scene with Darth Vader tossing the emperor over the edge? (only in this case it would be the reverse…. and there would be no happy ending).

Its funny how as I get older I don't have that rah rah drive, screaming at the TV, being depressed when the Steelers lose. I do feel good when they win obviously. More relaxed then ever. I still have interest in the team and the direction.

If in so what Heinz stated I will have more of a waning interest. The tale of the tape is now the NFL is in bed with the gambling sites, have a team IN Lost Wages. As Goodhell said this would never happen and would distance from the notion. Now they are just like a cheap car date looking for a quick buck over and over.

    I understand Ray, I understand.
