We're paying him $25 mil for this garbage, and then another $10 mil next year whether he suits up or not.

Pretty sure even Rudolph could lead us to .500 for a fraction of that with the savings put towards a competent O-line.

Ben had a hell of a second half. I'll miss him when he is gone.

It will be a loooong time until we get another QB as good as him. Enjoy it while it lasts...

Tomlin’s postgame podium contained a lot of clicky sayings of his.

    Sounded stupid.

He sounded different than normal, sounds like some people are getting benched or cut.

You think Ben wants to come back next year and take shots like he did tonight?

I bet he is feeling it right now.

Ben's cap hit is $25 mil for 2021 and $10 mil for 2022.

Because he got a dumb unsportsmanlike penalty right in front of the ref, and he was signaling for a first down at the end of the game when they had no timeouts, and you're trying to defend him?

Did I touch a nerve? Lol

Something wrong with the idea of getting a true center and playing Green at his natural position?

    We need guards too lol

True. I imagine the transition from college to nfl while playing a new position is that much more difficult.

I just like what I see from Linderbaum at C.

Until the next game when he lays an egg for 2 quarters. This team lacks consistency on both sides of the ball

I’ve been defending Claypool but not tonight, seriously needs to grow up. He needs a business like approach on the field. Signaling for a first down with the game on the line and clock ticking, completely moronic thing to do.

If you think Roethlisberger was the problem last night, you have no idea what you are watching.

One of the worst parts of that ending is Freiermuth is probably blaming himself for the loss this morning. Roethlisberger supposedly said the rookie was very upset that he didn't come up with the catch. Sure, you would like him to hold on, but give the defense some credit and the officials some blame. Harrison Smith did a great job slamming his arm down on the ball before Freiermuth could secure it, but the other safety got away with launching himself at a defenseless receiver. By the rules, that hit was worse than the one by Fitzpatrick earlier in the game that was flagged.

He is young kid, did i like what he did?, Meh prob not.. But either those things wasnt why we lost the game. There is a group of guys on here that if a player does 1 thing they dont like , they are the first ones to throw rocks, and seems they wont stop till they get bored doing it... IMO Some people make mountain out of molehills.....Want my honest opinion of CC ? I think within another few years he will be one of our biggest leaders..JMO

    I disagree with this.

Look ba k at Garrett Bradbury's Rookie Season with the Vikings. By all accounts, he played very poor. Erik McCoy of the Saints in his first two years another. Biggest one though is Ryan Kelly of the Colts.

His rookie season as the Colts Center, he played well. However, injuries robbed him in his sophomore season in 2017. 2018 was his most inconsistent season to date. He has become a much better Center from 2019 onward but even his first three seasons were spotty.

Overall and, again, succeeding as a Rookie in the NFL is not easy at all. Succeeding as an Offensive Lineman?! Even harder.

It’s not his talent, I couldn’t disagree more with the people knocking that, his problem is between the ears.

Last week he missed a hot read, yesterday he missed a blocking assignment, these are mistake a 2nd year player shouldn’t’ be making. Then there is the dumb stuff like unsportsmanlike penalties or signaling for a first down and not showing any urgency. Where is his situational awareness. He was upset he got shown up on the field more than the fact that he was hurting his team. Too worried about his brand. He needs to grow up.

Agreed. You certainly can't put it all on Claypool, but his mental mistakes were very costly last night.

Just saw this reading through this thread. We went 12-4 last season. And we only have 4 games left so 5 in a row is all we can lose in a row.

Ya well, he threw his team under the bus and got testy when the female reporter was the only one with the guts to ask him about coaching. I am not a "fire tomlin" guy. I want him to stay. But that post game presser sucked. He needs to hold himself and his coaches accountable.
