Kinda felt this was coming. It's bittersweet nonetheless.

I’d like to see him go out on top with a winning streak that starts against Baltimore

It’s been a great career. As a Steelers fan I appreciate everything Ben has brought to the team. He was a surprise coming out of college but he instantly made the Steelers contenders. Thank you 7 for the great seasons.

Regardless of whatever happens this year or whether people think he hung on a year too long “selfishly” (a notion that I still laugh at), Ben should be celebrated for all he has done for this franchise. Making 3 Super Bowls and winning 2 in the Brady/Manning era is no small feat. Thanks for the memories Ben!
Now go beat Baltimore or you’re dead to me

Ben always made me nervous his 1st few years. Then I came to grips with it and just expected him to do amazing things. He's given us so many countless memories whether it was ngata rearranging his nose and him playing on, game winning drives, extending plays and having us as couch coordinators screaming throw it away to only have him make a huge play.

A player can play as long as he wants or try to get paid as much as they want. I'll never condemn a player for it. Now the organization I'd question, but I think Ben deserved this year. I don't think the 2021 Steelers were best positioned to win with the roster turnover plus the injuries.

Here's hoping to somehow win out and go on a run. Id rather root for that then a better draft pick.

Ben might have not been the best QB on the field these 18 years, but he damn sure was the toughest .. I for one will miss watching him play

Respect to him for letting the team know in advance. This will allow the team to plan for 2022. Now let send him out the way they sent out Bettis

So if games get out of hand in Q4, Ben takes a seat so Mason or Haskins can get a look and some reps, right?

    I won’t hold my breath.

Have to wonder if his comments recently about the culture have anything to do with it.

I think this was coming. He really should have gone at the end of 2021, that playoff loss probably ate him up and I’m sure he was desperate to go again but it was never going to work with the way the roster was shaping up. The team / owners really should have sat him down last offseason and told him it’s over

Ben is one of the greats and nobody can ever take that away from him. Hope he enjoys his retirement
