Mean Joe on defence and Hines on offence.
Both would change the culture. They wouldn't tolerate soft play

    Dawson on offense
    Woodson on defense

Toss-up where it's needed most though because there's no separation by the receivers and when there is Ben is not trying to give them the ball in stride with room to run. Woodson with Haden right now would let them play more man like they did last year with him and Nelson.

I don't get why they keep drafting zone corners, when they keep getting burned when in zone.

I don't often agree with you my friend , but on this post, you are so spot on.Steelers never recovered when he stepped down. Wasn't it Big Snack who knocked Eddie George unconscious in mid air that became a fumble that Steelers recovered from his numb hands?

Mike Munchak. Not as a player but as a coach.
The downward spiral started when he left.

A lot of the more popular names have been mentioned.
I'll go with Woodley in his prime. Pairing him with TJ on the other side would be a heck of a.pass rush tandem.

The recency bias on this thread is very interesting.

A Safety tandem that likes to hit wouldn't hurt.

Lake and Perry would be my preference.

Shazier was on the NFL Network today promoting his book "Walking Miracle". It is about the ordeal he and his family went through from fearing paralysis to the triumph of being able to walk again. It should be a great book for any Steelers fan especially those fans of Shazier.

No one, anyone you choose will ruin their legacy. Therefore, I wouldn't subject anyone to that. JMO>

A lot of the posters on here that are under a certain age have no recollection of the 70's Steelers. They never saw Donnie Shell play so the pick for hard hitting safety is Carnell Lake. Lamar Woodley would be a good choice for OLB for someone that never saw Jack Ham play. We even had someone pick Kordell Stewart but no one has picked Terry Bradshaw. Someone in their 70's or 80's would pick Ernie Stautner or John Henry Johnson. There is no right or wrong pick it is just who you have a good memory of their playing days.

Yeah. In reality his situation in a lot of ways is why we're here in terms of devin bush. No clue how shazier would have been if he continued playing, but would have loved to have found out. He was all over the field and seemed like a team leader plus he was able to learn from some greats. Ryan seems like an amazing person and def a book i plan on reading.

Oh . I thought it was the C. Hampton (big snack) pick since there was a bunch of those. Same what I picked even though I watched since the 70s....because We run a 3-4 unlike back in the day, and this 3-4 desperately needs a NT.

Id be curious to see what Slash could do in todays game. Obv terry is a better steeler and had much more success, but in the era of lamar it makes me wonder what kordell could do with an offense schemed around his skill set.

They did that for a couple years. We ran plays I have never seen outside of college. Did everyone forget???
Yet it always came down 2 the same as it comes down 2 Lamar. Once You get into the Playoffs great teams make You play left handed, and for Kordell, as for Lamar that actually Means passing when You have 2 pass because they've taken everything else away.
Everyone acts like Lamar is tearing it up. LoL. He has 1 passing td more then Ben, and 5 more turnovers. I don't get it.
