I just want to take a moment to thank Benny for posting a decent thread.

Then another to agree with Elvis that health is the key.

And finally to say that this season has been crazy as **** so I numerous random events to intervene between now and the post-season.

Speaking of Playoffs, I'm curious to see how many losses the SB winner will have this year. Can't remember what the most losses a SB winner has had.

I want to say the Arizona Cardinals the year they played Steelers in SB. I think they had 7 losses????????????????????? I still remember that NFCCG. My family were sweating balls the Eagles would win and that SB would have been tough for us. (living in Philly market)

The 2008 Cards did indeed have 7 losses, as did the 1979 Rams, who the Steelers also defeated. It was the 2011 Giants, with a negative regular season point differential to go along with their 9-7 record, that become the first team to win one with 7 losses, taking down the Patriots for the second time in four years.

Thanks! I remember that Giant year. Lot of Giant fans in my area. They pretty much thought it would be a one and done. I believe they had to go to GB and a few of their fans I know said they wouldn't even watch. If memory serves, the Mighty Steelers were first ever 6 seed SB winner, I think the Giants were the second.

Please don't let us have 2 ties. It will really screw me up in The Steeler Prediction Poll.

From what I've seen I could see that happening but somehow I just can't see a 5 win Pittsburgh Steeler team with Ben as our QB.

Yeah, I don't think anybody saw that Giant team coming. Another reason you just try to stay as clean as you can week to week, hope your hanging around for a playoff spot, and get hot (or even lukewarm) at the right times.

As for the Steelers being the first six seed to win it

The '32 Bears had six. '67 Steelers had three.

That Giants game was brilliant coaching and strategy. They won the game because they focused on getting Strahan and Co. in Sh1theads face and pressure him into mediocrity. I hate the Giants of course, but they did put together a great plan, (which I also hate because its theirs).

I get that, and they did a great job of putting it together when it counted, it's just many didn't see it coming because they didn't do os well in the regular season without significant injury, etc.

There's one product of the Mara family I'm quite fond of:

If everyone gets healthy we have a good chance to get 4or more wins. Without healthy forget it we will see a repeat of last Sunday many times over.

(7-9-1) as I see it. First losing season under Tomlin.
If the Ravens don't have to lay down that last week, we go (6-10-1).
I'd like to be wrong but, just not seeing this team doing anything from here on out.

    to live in reality, maybe?

I'm not a cheerleader, that is not my strength. Now - building a better team, THAT i could do.

    tomlin sucks, year after year.

the end of year (the Annual Swoon) fallout is occurring....

I would say we have 50 / 50 odds of losing them all.....for MANY reasons.

Rats will probably need to win in Jan, for playoff seeding and maybe to win the division. Even if they don't , half the team has already mailed it it. It will be 90% by January.

and all of this would be GOOD. We NEED a QB , to start the rebuild....

too bad they overpaid for an average coach in the offseason
