Banner was in for Harris's leaping TD. After they fought back and needed to take some time off the clock, they could of gone with an elephant package of three tackles. Even with Harris out a three tackle heavy unbalanced Oline might have been able to run the ball against the worst rushing defence in the league. It's a radical idea and I've never seen used before , oh hang on wasn't that what we all saw the Lions use just last week to run the ball down our throats.

Those teams had some success as they ran the ball, the Steelers didn't .

Nice to see them finally use Watt as a lead blocker at the goal line.

They committed to it, like our owner told our team we need to do. The Steelers have been near the bottom of the league in running for years.

The Seahawks had 19 yards rushing at the half and trailed 14-0, then ran for 125 in the 2nd half.

So the Seahawks found success rushing the ball and continued to do it like steelersrule said. Got it.

The OL and running game wasn't going to be fixed in one offseason, their ranking might not be good right now, but the running game is better than last season and they can actually pick up a first down in short yardage.

That's what adjustments can do. They broke the code and we kept using it. JMO>

True, and there was nowhere to go but up from last season. They were last in the league by a pretty large margin. They are still not far from the bottom but marginally better than last year. So, definitely going in the right direction. I understand they need time and the lineup changes and injuries haven't helped. I guess what makes the situation worse is seeing the huge improvement the chiefs made on the OL in 1 offseason and they are doing it with 2 rookie starters and a third rookie who is getting playing time. Is the talent they brought in just that much better than ours? Is it coaching, blocking scheme, better QB play, receivers running better routes? Their main RB, Clyde EH, isn't better than Najee. When your owner makes an edict that they are going to commit to run the ball and this is where we are 2-3 years later, something needs to change. Still too many 1st and goal situations or 3rd and short where they just don't have the confidence to run up the middle. I would like to see just once where they have 1st and goal from the 5 and go heavy and run it 4 times. Even if they don't score, I'd be happy that they at least made the attempt.

He said we didn't try to run because we were down by 14. So was Seattle, but they still tried.

Exactly. Adjustments or game planning for a specific opponent. When is the last time you were wowed by a Steeler game plan? The short pass attack/ball control game vs. NE so many years ago?

Yes. They did. And they found some success. So they stuck with it for a bit.

The Steelers may have tried in a game, and it didn't work to their satisfaction with the respective game situation.

Two different teams in different scenarios.

Seattle also knew they didn't have much of a chance with Geno passing the ball.
