    minor league football

this is football for players that couldn’t make it at the professional level. No different than arena league and the Vince McMahon league. And has nothing to do with the Steelers

This league will fail like many before it, even if it tries to be developmental. Football is just a sport where you make it or you don't.

Most careers are short, and not long. Of course you will give me the Warren Moon and Doug Flutie arguments, and Kurt Warner of course.

But, it's not just baseball, basketball and hockey, Where you can go work on your game for 3-4 years and get better, by the time your 26-27 they will start to view you as old.

Because it’s a Steelers message board and if anything could be posted then we would have 100 Benny lava threads.

No. College football is college football. Technically amateur football. Either way still doesn’t have anything to do with the steelers

College football is minor league. It's the NFL feeder league. Whatever. Stop being elitist about football

It's Pittsburgh pro football. It's perfectly fine here

Wet butt or not, when a board admin creates separate forums for variations of a subject, regardless of the reason or whether or not you agree with it, it's generally considered proper etiquette to observe and honor the request.

    Vad Lee for Steeler QB!!!!!

There are like 10 people at the Maulers game:) It was yet another tough loss in New Orleans.

I'm thinking Fox Sports may lose money on this venture especially during current economical times.

Which is why I think it's dumb for Fox and NBC to continue to waste money on these spring leagues. It's obvious they need inventory or they wouldn't be creating nonsense like USFL and air the XFL. I think it makes more sense for the NFL to invest $$$ into existing foreign leagues in Japan, Mexico, Canada, South America and Europe, and air those games on the NFL Network. They can also send unused talent to those countries to help elevate the talent level, as well as coaches. As for lack of live content this time of the year for Fox and NBC, they should simply increase their inventory in the MLS.

I have 2 disagree. I've watched most of the games. I don't pretend 2 say it's as good as the NFL, but it's a dang sight better than some College teams I've watched, and I watch a lot of college.
I'm not talking about the Maulers...I'm talking about the USFL in general.
If ESPN, and other channels can waste time showing WNBA, Cornhole tossing, Climbing events, and a whole smorgasbord of other things I wouldn't play...let alone watch....I believe any Football is better. JMO

It's not so much the level of competition. It's the fact these leagues habitually fail. I find some of them exciting myself. The consumer routinely has rejected them.

Well now some good news about the Non-Pittsburgh Pittsburgh Maulers - for 2023, they are changing their colors to...................you got it, Black and Gold. Still don't understand why these teams have City names where they don't play - reminds me of the old Roller Derby days in LA where the LA Thunderbirds never played on the road, only at home and took turns with teams supposed to be from other cities. Very weird.
