Haven't heard anything about him in a long time. Heyward is our only force on the DL and we could really use Tuitt. Is he healthy or what?

I think he's been working out. Rumors were he was badly out of shape. The loss of his brother hit him pretty hard. Sounds like he's coming out the other side of depression. Hopefully we see him again

Anybody’s guess really because the team haven’t given any details or timeline for a return.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t come back until next season. They could probably have managed if they hadn’t lost Tyson Alualu as well. Losing both has been a killer for the run defence in particular.

I think the fact he hasn't had an interview with a local reporter is telling. Usually if things are fine there are updates and interviews.

Hopefully not. Don’t want to spoil that top 10 draft pick

Think you seen the last of Tuitt in a Steelers uniform, I doubt he plays this season and will be released in the off season

$9 million cap hit if he’s released after the season. Little over 4 million in cap savings.
Not saying that it’s impossible, but I doubt they release him.

Tuitt is out of shape supposedly. It’s week 12 and he’s nowhere to be found. Complete lost year for him.

I think, even if he had come back ... I don't think his head is in the game anymore

The pic that was posted on here last month showed that he wasn't in that bad of shape.

Unfortunately, we forget our "heroes" are also human. While, as a Steeler fan, I would love to see Tuitt out on the field, he is going through stuff that we all hope we never have to go through. Pray for him, keep him in your thoughts, and God willing, he'll be back soon.

If it doesn't happen, he was a cog in the team I cheered for for years. God bless him.

Reports last month said he was in good shape. Dealing with a knee injury.

Just what "stuff" is it he going through that is 100% factual concerning his condition? You seem to know things that many here don't. If Tuitt didn't say something nor the Steelers organization, then is not factual.

LOL I'm willing to bet that if they had a top 10 pick next year the board would be 60\40 on wanting to trade back and pick up more picks since there are too many holes for one draft pick to fill.

on the one hand we have Keith Butler saying he is out shape with knee injury and on the other we have Keith Butler who was responsible for the defensive game plan last night who many call dumber than a box of rocks. Time to ask yourself what do you believe?

Technically there's no "hit" to him being released (or retiring). He's currently on the books next year for $13.9MM. If they were to release him prior to June 1, they would have to account for his 2022 bonus, $4.9MM, and the three subsequent void years of $1.6MM each, about $9.7MM in all. This isn't a hit, it's just dead money. Subtract it from the original $13.9MM they were accounting for and you get $4.3MM in savings.

If the Steelers do release him, I would imagine they'd use one of their post-June 1 designations. This pushes future bonus prorations (here, the three void years) to the following year's cap. That would take another $4.7MM off 2022 (total savings $9MM; total dead money $5MM) and push it to 2023. This would align with what the books already have for 2023, as the three void years are set to trigger upon the completion of the 2022 season.

Minor knee surgery in camp….it’s week 12 and no sight of him?? Even the loyal Steeler beat reporters are saying the situation is a mystery. Come on Glenn.

You’re probably correct. I would prefer 2-3 years of top 10 picks.

It just sounds good in their head and others buy into it hook, line, and sinker.
