First round pick for a short yardage back is not helping the argument here.

Is it possible for you to not act like a troll with this subject? Seems you're becoming obsessed with finding ways to insert it into as many threads as possible (while creating 'new' ones on it as well), using repeated bouts of broken logic and sarcasm in an attempt to support your argument.

That Harris as a running back, or the Steelers strategy in drafting him, isn't without flaw is hardly enlightening. But that doesn't transform it into the blind/stupid/disastrous decision you're making it out to be either.

You don't have to be fast to break long runs. Derrick Henry isn't fast. Harris wasn't an explosive play back at Alabama, where he had huge holes and lots of weapons that required attention.

4.54 ain't slow. Especially when he's bringing 240 lbs with him.

    Lol.

    1. The whole bloodthirsty army zealots thing is a creation of your own making. You've spent far more time hunting down and instigating others that praise Harris' play or don't bemoan the pick as much as you. Your repeated derisions have been met with pushback, which you're now spinning into a false 'bloodthirsty army' narrative.

    2. If by 'joke' you're referring to the volumes of other posts of yours on the subject and against others that praise Harris' play, and seemingly define the bulk of your contributions here.. you may be onto something.

    Average yds/carry:

    Najee: 3.7
    Bennie: 2.8
    Kalen: 1.7

Granted those two have had a grand total of 18 carries, but there's a reason for that too.

This offense with Ben and his inability to throw deep and certainly not deep middle along with an O-line that's a bigger project than Hoover Dam, and no one is going to average a lot/carry. The RBs have faced 8 in the box all the time.

    LOL Wut?

Then why do people have so much trouble catching up to him in the open field? He ran a 4.54 40 and for a guy that was 247 pounds and has long legs (meaning slower acceleration) that is damn fast. Once he gets in the open field those strides open up and he chews up field like it is going out of style. He is the closest thing we have seen to Eric Dickerson when he gets a lane.

I will just leave these here: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/derrick-henry-reached-an-insanely-fast-speed-on-td-vs-bills-that-no-other-nfl-player-has-matched-this-year/#:~:text=According to NFL's Next Gen,NFL has reached this season.

"Derrick Henry isn't fast." LOL get outta here.

Edit: As for Harris, he is faster than Le'Veon who was the best all-around running back in football for about 3 years straight so who cares?

    This.

4.54 only seems slow due in part to players like DeShaun Jackson (his glory days anyways), Tyreek Hill, D.K. Metcalf and Ja'Marr Chase literally tearing up the track nowadays. More so though, the current pace of the game further strengthen the notion that Henry is moving what some believe to be an average pace. That said, those players are less heavy that Henry and do not take nearly as much punishment. Realistically, the closest WR/TR to compare to Henry if factoring just pure athletic ability is Albert Okwuegbunam of the Bronocs; a 4.49 at 258 lbs.

Regardless, that 240lbs with that speed is designed for one purpose; downhill charge. Most people compare Henry to Eric Dickerson and, I respectfully disagree somewhat. He looks more and more like a Supercharged Jerome Bettis. Unusual comp I know but there running styles are very similar... and I mean VERY similar.

Granted, Henry is faster than the Bus but both have tremendously RARE quickness and abilities to decelerate/accelerate for men their size. Add the fact that former Titans Head Coach Mike Mularkey (a former Steelers Coach from 1996 to 2003) saw some of the Bus' style in Henry and, the comps themselves are even more founded. The biggest reason though I believe he plays like a Supercharged Jerome is that, like Jerome, he has the ability to wear down defenses at his beckon call, just like Jerome did. A true closer in every sense of the word.

In short?! Just like Jerome, do not underestimate that speed and power coming downhill. It is a mistake a many a Defender have made... and paid for.

OK, so Henry is faster than I thought, lol, but that doesn't help the argument for Najee, who ran a 4.45 in college, but for some reason was never a breakaway guy. Just not an explosive back who's going to get you a bunch of 20+ yard runs.

All those guys went before the Steelers selected in those rounds. I don’t think you appreciate the nuances of how the draft works.
