Would you rather go 9-7-1 or 5-11-1?

Well he signed a three year contract extension last year, so he's not going anywhere, so I guess you're just going to have to deal with it.

The problem is the drop off in depth and other role players. Seems we lose key players every season (most teams do though)

9-7-1, and it’s not even close. Every week the goal needs to be winning. Losing creates a losing atmosphere that’s hard to shake. Just look at all of the perennial bottom feeders that seem to stay there no matter how much talent they acquire.

I would rather be 9-7-1. Make it happen and let Mason start the rest of the season.

Whatever it takes to not have Ben or Mason as the 2022 starting QB.

5-11-1 ... is a closer reality. 9-7-1 will still be just another disappointing season. Might as well go all. At this point, we are not even competitive.

I'll take 5-11-1 if it means we get a new HC and all new staff with fresh ideas.

    5-11-1

Even if this team makes the playoffs, they're not going far.

You're better off getting a high draft pick.

Of course, I think the draft order should be a lottery of non-playoff teams or even reverse order of missing the playoffs, meaning the first team to miss the playoffs should get the first pick. That would prevent tanking. But I digress.

9-7-1 and making the playoffs is about the 19th pick not a mid-round pick. I think most people know I prefer the high pick. They might not use it on a QB.

you could have the best post on here in this thread. We had some real stinkers in that 19 years. Maybe it will take another 19 years.

How many top 10 quarterbacks are on their way out from their original team? I never want us to have a bad record. I always always want us to win. I don't care how sloppy, how ugly or how they do it, I just want them to win.

Now, do I wish they play better when they do win, absolutely, but winning is always better than looking forward to a draft pick.

If we get the 29th pick, it means that we lost the AFC Championship game. Yeah… I’ll take that.

There are busts at every position, if you bust out at QB you keep trying, cuz you're not going to win anything without one. The Steelers tried with mid round picks and middling vets before finding Ben, the first 1st round QB they drafted since Bradshaw retired.

They went 12-4 and won the division last season, and got the 24th pick in the draft.

Point conceded. Two franchises that have been to the SB just as often as the Steelers in the last decade.

Let’s see we have Tomlin and without Ben th Steelers can’t handle an 0-8 team. Hmmmm. New England already looks like a contender. I wonder if we really have the second best coach “which most of you believe. Hmmmm
