For the pass in the dirt. Basically says the lions blew their coverage and in turn ray ray ran the wrong route not allowing Rudolph to adjust.

I'm blaming Matt Canada (or Mike Tomlin for letting it happen) for that entire disaster.

1st and Goal at the 5 yard line.....
    3 pass plays....

Here is a hint Matt Canada, get out of your heated dry booth its raining out here and its cold....

Here's what your going to do....
Jumbo package, I -formation. You know with that Derek Watt guy wears #44 play full back.... that guy we pay $3 million a year for.... that guy...
    Najee Harris 1st Down
    Benny Snell 2nd Down
    Najee Harris 3rd down
Go for it on 4th down for all I care or kick a FG....

What you don't do is pass the ball 3 times in crappy rain, with a back up QB, who just learned the night before that he is playing.

    KISS
    Kept, It, Simple, Stupid.....

So have Merrill Hoge yell at Matt Canada, he was a mudder of a running back....

Typical. the solution to everything is run the ball. Everything else is fixed if you run the ball. Down both guards? Run the ball. Rain? Run the ball.

Shot our load too early with all the jet sweeps to the point that it became predictable. That element of surprise would of help with first and goal

I didn’t read it. I just like to do message searches for “Benny Snell.” I know… strange hobby…

So 3 straight passes on 1st down at the 5 was the right call. Got it.

yall are hilarious. Defense stacked against the run, down two starting offensive linemen, and 2/3 of the remaining are rookies. Run run run

You can spread a D out and still run from it. In fact, Football Outsiders has done extensive studies on how this is preferable to going heavy and jamming up the middle.

Mason was struggling throwing in bad weather.

I blame this on the idiot who thought Ray Ray McCloud should be the most targeted WR that day

I agree McCloud blew his route but Rudolph had plenty of time to reset and hit him for the TD.

I sure hope the Steelers already made up their mind and feel Rudolph is just a BU and don’t dedicate a whole season to him next year.

yeah i think everyone including rudolph has given up on rudolph at this point. He hit a ceiling (low) very fast and never progressed. Rudolph if you are reading this, sorry bro. You at least are better looking than Ben lol

you better get used to it. 2022 it’s going to be Rudolph or a rookie

    Rookie, hopefully.

I’ll even take a rookie that sits for a bit while Rudolph starts, at least there is a plan in place. Theres something to be said for not throwing rookie QB’s to the wolves.

If there is a decent rookie QB and the Steelers draft him, I say go with it. I see no value or upside of having a rook learn from and sit behind MR.

Yeah, doesn't matter about that even if he stays where he is, it's a bad throw! Mason is looking at it the whole way and he wasn't really rushed into that throw!

Bad footwork again by him if he couldn't reset and make an accurate throw from his drop!

Erything on offense is QB's fault. Plain and simple, Rudolph failed to beat the Lions.

I blame Rudolph for a lot, but won’t go that far. He didn’t snap it high or fumble the ball. Though he had more than his share of bad plays.
