What team, other than the Colts and maybe San Diego, hasn't? Green Bay traded for Favre, Cheatriots got lucky with Brady, etc.

We see Qbs nobody has tape on every year come out and beat teams...as soon as tape gets around they slide back into backup roles.
Well except for our backups. LoL

Rookie wage scale has really changed things.

That majority of super bowl winners in recent history have had QBs on their rookie contract. Tom Brady and Peyton are the big exceptions, and guys like that are rare.

Russell Wilson bankrupted the Seahawks. Joe Flacco killed Baltimore after his post super bowl mega-contract. Mahomes is likely doing the same. Lamar will probably kill Baltimore again this off-season. I expect the Browns to be smart for once and just move off Baker.

IMO the best way forward is to build a great team first while skimping on QB pay, then get someone on their rookie deal and make a run. Rinse and repeat.

RB is probably the only position that doesn't need to addressed in the upcoming drafts. Taking a QB early would be premature.

The proposal for a separate salary cap for QB’s that the article mentions the last CBA discussed is a great idea, IMO. They should definitely take that up again in the next CBA. Won’t help us if we get lucky and find out guy this draft but still a great idea.

In that case we need to find the most experienced hooker available.

There is no such thing as a sure fire guy. Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, etc, etc...

Yep. You do your best due diligence, make a pick, and try your best to develop him and a team around him.

If you're waiting for a "sure fire" pick, you're going to be waiting for a very long time.

Y'all need to stop thinking there is an answer to drafting a QB next year. They stink and only one is considered first round caliber. (And because a few go in the first round, means teams will be reaching. So you better hope that's not us).

If you're not fine with Mariota or Trubisky. The other option is a trade for Rodgers. Or maybe Wilson.

Or, they could change some of the rules that make passing so damn easy so that a franchise type QB isn't prerequisite to winning. If they disallowed the holding, allowed DBs to get their hands on WRs for 10 yards instead of 5, and do away the cheap roughing the passer calls it could change the whole dynamic. Quarterbacks wouldn't be so comfortable in the pocket, WRs would have to work to get open and this would bring the defense and rushing attacks back into play a bit. Hopefully, then you don't need a separate pay scale for quarterbacks.

I expect them to keep Mason in 2022, and draft a QB.

If they would trade away a 2nd and a 3rd to move up for a LB, they’ll move up for a QB if they feel strongly about him.

So far I only see one Guy...even close...Of course I haven't watched everyone, but all the top names I have. Pickett is the only one that doesn't just take off when the 1st option is covered, or just take off and run into sacks. If You aren't looking at more than one read in College....You probably will have way more difficulty in the NFL.

Carson Strong doesn’t run much. He has a way better arm than Pickett and distributes the ball to a bunch of receivers. He’s not hyped because he plays for Nevada and has had a knee issue

I like Carson and have watched him play a few times this season, not much mobility from him because of the knee issue.
