When he was the Quarterback of the Rams in 2019 at Heinz Field by a score of 17-12. There are a ton of similarities with that game with the Rams and the game coming up with the Lions tomorrow. That game was on November 10th, 2019 this game will be second the Sunday in November just like that game being November 14th, 2021. James Washington was featured in that game and caught a TD Pass and he will be featured again tomorrow now as well with Claypool out and Washington getting the start. We know Washington and Rudolph have a good rapport playing with one another in college as well and he isn’t afraid to look Washington’s way.

Another weird thing about that Rams game two years ago in comparison to the Lions game tomorrow was it was on Fox and tomorrow’s game is as well and Chris Myers and Daryl Johnston did the play by play for the Rams game and they are also doing the Steelers game tomorrow with the Lions.

Lastly, tomorrow is the two year anniversary exactly if the Rudolph Garrett helmet game November 14th 2019, and here he is two years later getting a start in a huge game for the Steelers. So not that any of that means anything but it’s just strange how many things are similar to that game with the Rams almost 2 years ago exactly. It’s the 2nd Sunday in November like tomorrow, Jared Goff was the Rams QB who Mason won against that day, Washington caught a TD and was featured and might be featured tomorrow, and the game was on Fox with the Rams like the Lions game is tomorrow with the same exact announcers. Maybe all of that will mean nothing but it’s just bizarre how many small little awkward things are very similar with that game with the Rams compared to this game with the Lions tomorrow. We shall see how things play out tomorrow and hopefully we see similar results and a similar outcome.

So you are saying a Detroit LB is going to take his helmet off and hit Mason in the head with it today. Awesome.

If Rudolph can’t even win this game today and beat a winless Lions team who stink on defense then how can the Steelers feel good in any way about Rudolph being their guy in 2022 and beyond like so many think he will be. This is a very fair question to ask Mike Tomlin after this game is over should the Steelers heaven forbid lose this game and Rudolph is one of the main reasons they do lose this game. This is a huge huge game for Rudolph and his future on this Steelers team. He cannot stink today and lose this game. He has to find a way to play well and win this game which I believe he will be able to do.

How much will they let him do? The game plan was created for Ben. If they come out running wildcat and only allow him pop passes like they did vs. Cincy a couple years ago, it will show a profound lack of confidence in MR.

Anyway, some of us were hoping they'd get to see Mason this year instead of waiting until 2022. I'm suddenly more excited about this game rather than simply waiting to see how long Boswell's game-winning FG is.
