Ben is banged up, has a sore pec that affects his ability to throw. Ben also can't play from under center any more. Rudolph can, and is fresh and healthy.

We have a better shot at beating Cincy with Rudolph than with a hurt, immobile Ben.

Maybe Rudolph can even throw the ball down the middle of the field.

If nothing else we could see whether the offense we are running is actually the offense Canada wants to run or whether they are still placating Ben and running what he wants to run. I would expect more of an emphasis on the run. If we didn't get it then we could all agree that Tomlin and Canada need to go.

I'll take a hobbled Ben against the Bengals over a healthy Rudolph any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

If Ben doesn't play and get sacked, we won't know if the oline has learned from last week.

I don’t know. Whenever Ben has a bad game, he somehow shows up on the injury list the next week. Then he takes one of two options:

    1. Let the backup QB play to show the team how much they really need him.
    2. Comes limping onto the field to show the fans that he’s a warrior willing to fight on

It’s a tale that has been told countless times and it’s getting stale

There is no way Ben doesn't play at home against the Bengals.

He will take next week off against Green Bay in Green Bay.

Then be back ready to play at home against Denver.

This, 100% . Thanks Ben for what you have done for this organization but its time to move on. Shame on the front office for not having a QB in place to take over. I watch all these different games (nfl red zone) and all these young mobile qb's with rifle arms and just think we are doomed. I'm actually starting to resent Ben for not retiring. I hate feeling this way but I do. We are going to be in for some lean years ahead.

An injury like this could be easily aggravated/made worse, wonder if they're playing mind games with the Bengals. Could be a situation like with Cleveland a few years ago when Landry started, got dinged, and Ben came in the throw for 300+.

If they really think Ben is their best hope this year, and that Mason isn't a complete zero, Rudolph would be trusted to beat Cincy at home.

Ben will start. You won't see much difference, if any. in what he does (which is limited anyway), and then wonder why you believe anything you read or see in the gossip media.

I agree about Ben but I think the FO assumed Mason would be the guy. That is why they drafted him. No guarantee with the QB's a team drafts. I'm sure the Patriots never dreamed what a #6 pick QB would do. I agree there are many young strong guns now in the NFL, the AFCN has 3 but because we had Ben we never went looking for a QB.

No way Ben last the season. I do not think Mason is an NFL starting QB. No doubt in my mind we are heading to lean years. We have to hope like hell we get lucky in the draft and even if we do it's going to be rough for awhile. The other 3 teams in the AFCN have quality QB's.

Somewhere out there in America's High Schools there is a punk ass cocky kid who in 4 years will be our next franchise QB.

I've already accepted that this year is Ben's farewell tour and is not going anywhere. I just hope we are able to establish something on offense so that the next guy is not thrown out there with the garbage we have been seeing for the last year+.

you won’t see what offense Canada wants to run until the offensive line can block.

No, that was my philosophy after the Cincinnati game when they refused to bench Ben at halftime. I gave Ben his farewell tour for the last 4 games he should have ever been allowed to play in a Steeler uniform.

There is no way he deserves to waste an entire years worth of other players time on a farewell tour. Unless all the injuries on the defense are permanent; then give Ben his farewell tour and have him lead us into the 1st overall pick in the draft.

He needs to go out just like Eli did; sitting on the bench.

Ben needed to get pushed to the bench by a better qb. Mason wasn't it.

Funny, Who has the better chance of getting Benched this week Ben or D. Jones both seem to be on the hot-seat?
