The same HC who couldn't beat Tampa Bay at home in the NFCCG, even though Brady threw 3 ints in the second half, yeah a real offensive genius .

Big deal, playing one of the worst teams doesn't impress me.

I guess you missed the first half of last season, when the Steelers had a running game and were able to win games on offense. The running game faltered around Week 7, but the Steelers averaged 29.4 points per game through 10 games last season.

    A one-game sample doesn't destroy anything.

Nah I was just repeating your lame excuse for the Ravens being able to beat the Chiefs despite their problems. It was even more nonsensical when you used it.

How many years has Tomlin been a head coach in this league? How many has LaFleur? At least GB gave Tampa their best shot. You know damn well Steelers would get blown out in a showdown with Brady as usual.

It helps when you play 4 cupcakes to start the season with a combined 1 win between them. What do you attribute the run game tanking week 7 to?

They gave up on the run. They substituted the short passing game and haven't gone back.

No hate from me. Just disappointment in terms of his lack of progression. Actually speaking, Mason's deep passes were better as the preseason went on than in his 2020 debut. That said, his intermediate passes still leave a lot to be desired in that area.

Haskins has all the arm talent to make any throw, anywhere on the field. That said, he still seems to lack the polish needed to hit those passes consistently; a major problem. Until he gets that down, he is the backups backup; journeyman more than likely at this point.

They ran into the Ravens and never seemed to trust the running game again. Baltimore clearly figured them out and it showed in both meetings. That is how they hung in with half their roster out with COVID later in the season. And yes, I think that is just part of why it is fair to say Harbaugh is a better coach than Tomlin, but Harbaugh is better than most of the head coaches in the NFL.

That doesn't change the fact that the Steelers were effective offensively the first 10 weeks of the 2020 season, even after they abandoned the run, so this idea that the offense has been unwatchable for multiple seasons simply isn't true.

Of course, effective is subjective. Do you wish to argue that 29.4 points per game is not effective?

Who cares if they were effective? They've been figured out and are not now effective.

what is the status of carl davis? we could use him to help us better try to replace alualu. he and buggs had good preseasons. if we have both i think we can hang in there without alualu much better. hopefully loudermilk keeps improving as well. i don't think wormley is the answer over davis or buggs at the nose.

Lighten up Francis, I'm not arguing, sheesh. Was just trying to get some opinion and perspective on why the team was effective on the ground for a good portion of the season then the complete opposite. Is it because opposing D's figured it out and shut them down, did they abandon the run too early, was it scheme and play calling? Probably a combination but I tend to lean more toward the latter two.
