I'm thinking he will either way.

By all means, tell us who said Roethlisberger had nothing to do with the offensive struggles. I don't know of anybody posting that.

There are people pointing to the offensive line as a bigger reason for the offense's struggles, but those silly folks are actually trying to understand what is happening rather than look for an easy scapegoat. I can't stand the guy, but I prefer to avoid overly simplistic, lazy analysis.

Even your own post acknowledges that it was the defense breaking down that ended the Steelers as a threat. That defense gave them a shot against anybody. Unfortunately, the last time we saw that defense intact was the early-season dismantling of the Browns.

Can we stick a fork in this team yet or is it still too early?

Ben lasted 2 games about what I predicted before the season. Tank for #1!

If Ben can't play, QB by committee. What the heck. Nothing to lose

Yeah, i decided to walk. We'd be the second franchise to fail him. He run the motion offense in California?

The thing is Green Bay has a head coach where offense is his specialty. Here, we have one with no specialty.

You seem like a smart guy. I think you can find the posters who refuse to acknowledge that Ben's limitations and what he is willing to do are a large part of the reason this offense looks the way it does going on two years now. I don't need to actually name names. Look for someone blaming the WRs for everything for one easy example.

Regardless, I definitely never said Ben is solely to blame. In fact in the post you quoted I didn't blame Ben at all. My point was that we are dreadful with him. There really isn't that much further we can fall. I'm not sure why I should care if some other QB starts. Are we going to average 5.7 YPA instead of 6.7? Are we going to run any worse? Are we going to score 13 offensive points instead of 16 or 17? Oh noes! If nothing else it might at least lead to more than 12 carries for our RBs since we won't have Ben to rely on. Maybe we can actually get better at running the ball if we really try to do it. Since I've no longer got any expectations of this team doing anything with this offense we might as well try to establish some sort of identity.

Lose to the Bengals at home on Sunday... then yes, stick a fork in 'em.

It wouldn't surprise me if this game went down to the wire.

He’s a “players” coach. Guys love playing for him because he doesn’t hold anybody accountable and plays favorites with vets even when they are washed up.

If Haden and Watt aren’t ready to go Sunday will be a colossal struggle. The Bengals have a damn good receiving corp in Higgins, Boyd and Chase, very good RB in Mixon too. I’d expect the Steelers to still get pressure but Burrow will have plenty of opportunities to make plays.

I’m not sure how much of a drop off there is to Rudolph from Ben.

If Ben can’t play, I don’t hate this idea. Start Rudolph and let Dobbs have some plays. An athletic QB would help open up Canada’s playbook a bit.

Things can get a lot worse. It's as if some of you don't realize the team is 1-1 with a victory over one of the best teams in the league.

I don't think the offense is going to be anything more than average this year for many reasons, mostly the offensive line, but the defense can still be damn good if they can get healthy. Okay, they aren't going to be fully healthy the rest of the way due to the loss of Alualu, but even just getting Watt, Bush, and Haden in there gets them a long way and there is hope they might have Tuitt for the game against the Packers.

How big is this committee? I think we only have 2 options?

If the offense is the same as last year, and I have seen almost nothing to think otherwise, then I have no hope for the season. The running game is not going to suddenly improve doing what we have done so far and the passing game showed last year that it is too easy to shut down. I'd love to be proven wrong and see everything start clicking against the Bengals but after a year+ of this offense I'm traumatized.

Yup, Mason and Haskins. I guess two can be a committee.

Playing sorry Detroit is the reason Green Bay righted their offense.
