    3.2 ypc, 0 rush TDs.

A bit below expectations if he continues at this rate.

He's a good RB, but I thought it was a wasted pick. We need too many other things. An average RB will excel behind a great line. A great RB will struggle behind a terrible line.

I figure he’d struggle behind this line especially as a rookie. He’s still shown great ability to create his own yards and push people around. He may end up with more receiving yards than anticipated though. Versatility is definitely there. I think he’s doing all he can

So. L. Bell only had 860 his 1st year on a way better offensive team. With a way better O line, and some here think He was a football god .
    So.....

Wasn’t Bell injured and inactive the first few weeks of his rookie season? Foot injury?

Possible. When was He not out a for a injury, or a suspension in a season while here??? I can only remember one year. Just going off memory.

I've not seen anything from Harris to make me think he's going to be anything special. I'm not saying he's not going to be - but he's not the type of Rb that seems to be good at making something out of nothing...at least not yet.

He does run with power but he also seems a bit upright . I'd like to see us get him involved in the passing game. He's physical enough to make corners and safeties look foolish tackling him.

That could explain why he only had 800 yards?

Bell had 860 yards, 8 TDs, and another 400 yards receiving...in 13 games. Najee's projected 700 yards are for 17 games.

That's all I'm really trying 2 say. Even though I wouldn't draft a RB in the 1st round....doesn't mean I don't think Harris is Great. Example: I wouldn't have spent that much money on TJ, but it doesn't mean I don't think TJ is great. Hell I own the Man's jersey.

Yes, we have to hope the line gets better as the year goes on. Or we could sustain more injuries.

Most the picks after Najee were edge rushers, corners, and WR. We have enough talent at edge and WR. Obviously corners are always needed but take time to develop and Steelers track record developing them. 1st round RB can produce right away. Yeah, we could've got a FA running back or what we had to run for 3 yards a carry. The difference is that play he made on the receiving touchdown. I think Najee was the right pick all things considered.

He is going to struggle until teams start getting people out of the box more. No team fears are passing attack, they know we are going to attack short, so until we get them to back up with more splash plays, going to be tough for Najee.

Plus throw in the very unexperienced line, and going to be tough sledding.

I'm not convinced he's great. He might be, but I have yet to see that "Wow" moment out of him.

Bell wasn't particularly good as a rookie. He was significantly better the following years.
I don't think he was a football god, but he was a very good RB for a number of years.

Yup. The reason I always say I would never take a running back in the 1st round or even early in the 2nd. Ravens lost their entire backfield and they still run the ball with RB's better than us. It's the most overrated position in sports.

We’ll, that’s it! We can quit watching this season. On to other pursuits. Benny has done the math. We have no chance for anything…….
