So what’s wrong with our offense?

    Ben looks off
    Offensive line can’t run block
    Receivers a rarely open
Not enough targets to the TE
    Can’t Sustain drives

Other than some more motion this looks no better than Fichtner’s offense.

    So what’s the real problem?
Is it as simple as the Oline?
    Is it mostly Ben?

The OL not opening enough holes for the running game is the biggest problem IMO.

Run blocking has been bad, I said it would be the run blocking and not pass protection that we would struggle at.

I think once that improves the offense will look a lot better.

I thought Ben actually looked better today, throwing downfield. There was a disconnect with him and DJ on some of those throws, that was probably on DJ.

I think Muth will be the guy moving forward, today was the passing of the torch. 4 targets 4 catches, double those targets now and he’ll be an impact player.

Have to get Harris more involved in the passing game, will have more TD’s like today.

2nd game with a new OC and new line but I think things will improve.

Yeah they definitely need to get some more push. But why does it seems that our receivers typically have to make contested catches? Is Ben to blame for this? Is it the scheme?

It's probably the scheme, the Raiders had some guys wide open.

Too many ego's to feed. These elite guys all think they are better than they actually are. I'm not talking about the trenches.

I think they are trying to keep Ben happy but it hurts the development of the young guys. If you want the Oline to gel and open holes then you need your QB under center more than in shotgun. Spreading them out with 3WR and a 1 TE isn't going to work if they press them and force them to fight through coverage to get an opening. To make the most of the weapons they have they need to play the way that puts them in the best position and Ben pump faking and not following the play or waiting for guys to come open is just not effective. Its almost vanilla play calling to be honest

It would help if they started throwing to Freiermuth more, he had 4 targets and 4 catches against the Raiders, use Derek Watt more.

Ravens are putting 3 guys in the backfield with Jackson and making positive run plays with guys who have a handful of practices with the team, how and why? because they know Jackson and what he needs to be effective and the utilize it.

Ben is a shell of his former self. Arm looks shot. Claypool has to jump over somebody to get the ball. O-line is young and average and Ben probably has 0 trust. Canada's offense doesn't look any different or better than Fichtner.

This is kinda what I was thinking. I made it well know after last season that I thought we should move on from Ben.
Nothing wrong with an offense coordinator play to the QB’s strengths, but playing to his weaknesses could get you in trouble.

Ben arm isn't shot, he threw a 50 yard pass to Claypool, and a 40 yard pass to Diontae.

Who's Derek Watt? Oh yea, he's a captain who did absolutely nothing once again. Too bad he couldn't earn his money again on his Victory formation play participation.

They need to stop with all those deep passes to Claypool, it's a low percentage play, it was 3rd and 4 so Ben throws a deep pass to Claypool but he can't come up wit it.

No play making ability on offense. Ben is not in his prime. He cant carry an offense by himself anymore. He doesn’t have the ability to make something out of nothing. He’s still capable of being a good starting QB but others need to step up.

We used to have wr’s that made big plays. We dont have anyone to stretch the field . Our deep threat is a joke. When’s the last time you saw a WR break one to a long TD? Imo the only option we have is to get Harris involved as a WR and use that new TE. He has skills.

I think they need to establish the run. Deep ball isn’t going to open up until they prove they can do it.

This should not be a Ben ‘throw first’ offense. Otherwise it will be more of last year.

I'm surprised he hasn't been more involved in the offense, I saw a lot of reports from training camp saying he would have a bigger role in the offense.

Ball placement. Claypool should've had it today. But he was under throwing all last game. He doesn't have the same zip anymore. All the short throws. This looks like the same Ben to you?

Claypool needs to start catching those 50/50 balls, he has the size advantage over every defender he faces.

Tomlin. Heads need to roll, butts kicked ala Cowher.

Sorry Glenn but this is an honest opinion, Tomlin's too soft.

Maybe if Ben knew how to throw a ball. They were over his head or going to the defender.
