If they gave Brown a new contract, then cap space does matter.

I agree, Ben's long passes look like a punt that he hopes his receivers come down with. Also on his mid range passes it appears there is not enough velocity to get the pass to the receiver allowing the defender to react to make a play. Carr's passes were spot on with velocity not allowing our defenders to react if they were in coverage.

Hope you don't have to buy a new TV unless you need one :)

Says the person flaming people on an internet message board. Is civil discourse (and/or following board rules) really that hard?

All the more reason that expecting the defense to win every game is not sustainable. If there ever was a time for the entire Offense to turn it around, an AFC North opponent just might be what the doctor ordered. Here is hoping they can.

To be clear, I called for him to be fired after the last loss to the Raiders. There have been plenty of times Tomlin has not had the Steelers ready for an inferior opponent. That was the case in 2018, and then Tomlin made it worse by sitting Roethlisberger with a minor injury until the lead was blown. If he was healthy enough to play, he should have been in there. If not, don't put him in even for desperation time.

Today was not at all the same thing. The Raiders have a very good offense. The Steelers went into the game missing three defensive starters, then lost Alualu very early. They were still in decent shape until they lost their best player. That doesn't mean Tomlin hasn't done a poor job in the past, but blaming him when injuries devastated the defense today is just haters looking for a reason to hate.

It is your poor interpretation of the facts that I disagree with, not the facts. You want to ignore the loss of five defensive starters because it suits your narrative. I say this as someone who called for Tomlin to be fired after the last loss to the Raiders. I'm just not like you, hiding when the Steelers get a big win, then showing up to talk smack when they lose. To be clear, I'm not saying you want them to lose. I'm saying your posts are driven solely by your hatred of Tomlin.

Basically, Tomlin can never be blamed. If he has a perfectly healthy roster and can't win, it's a coordinator problem or a there's a lack of talent or something. If they lose, it's because of injuries, poor performance from the players, lack of cohesion, etc. It can never be Tomlin's complete dearth of strategic thinking, including poor in-game decision-making, lack of preparedness by the team, lack of adjustments, etc. No. Those things don't exist.

Tomlin isn't even a John Gruden level football mind. Even Zach Taylor, a guy who's only been coaching 3 years in professional football, bested him with a joke roster last year.

Who is saying Tomlin can’t be blamed? I think most are just saying there’s several reasons to blame this loss on. Tomlin was definitely one of them.

The Chiefs trading for Brown has nothing to do with the Steelers, it's not like the Ravens was going to trade him to the Steelers.

Nobody said Tomlin can't ever be blamed, but keep on whacking away at straw men if that makes you happy.

However, it is a bit much to try to put it all on the coach when the defense was missing five starters, including arguably the best defensive player in the NFL, by the end of the second quarter.

It doesn't have to be explicitly stated. At any rate, you lap-sitters will throw every excuse in the book out there before admitting he's not good enough
