It makes me wonder why some lame brain would post this (not Disco)? They have zero knowledge of the numbers, term or how close they are but the idiot makes BS up and says “look at me”.

I wouldn’t be mad if the put him on the block for 2 1’s or a 1 & a 2. Paying QB money to an edge rusher is insane.

Insane would be the Steelers trading one of the top 10 players in the league for a first-round pick and a second-rounder.

I've seen a couple of reports tonight that Watt is expected to practice fully Monday whether he has his contract extension or not.

With been being almost done then why not and decide how you want to build this Team? We have a RB so run blockers would be great...The best way to stopa Team the opponents O is my man is better than yours, when I look at our DB situation it's simply not true ..So invest in quality back end guys who can cover 1 on 1 and understand zone and can make a tackle if need be,,Instead of we can do it all but none very well.. Man first is a must IMO..

Hopefully the news about him practicing today is true. So he will play against the Bills. It's a Tomlin rule no practice no play.

So it's either were going to hear an announcement he has signed a monster deal or the contract is being put on hold and he plays on the 5th year option money for the season. No one knows.

I feel he won't hold out if a contract isn't reached and it may signal a change in the way the Steelers do business and will keep negotiating into the season.

The lips are tight and rumors are swirling.

Hopefully we see him crushing QB's and running backs starting this Sunday and beyond. He is a major difference maker and our best defensive player.

That reported contract is ludicrous for a guy that routinely is MIA in playoff games

I thought the same way but I think all contracts have gotten way out of hand and I really believe a reckoning is coming.

He is set to begin year 5 of his Pro career and his post season appearances include the wildcard game in 2017 his rookie year and the 2020 Wildcard game in which they constantly shot themselves in the foot. That is it two games and you guys are throwing around words like routinely? Routinely would be the Steelers playoff record between their founding and the hiring of Noll. Not 2 games in four years.

I would let him play out this year see how he does see if he gets hurt and then be ready to tag him next season. It is utter stupidity to spend that much money on an OLB when we are moments away from a rebuild with a new QB

Valid point the sample size is not big but in those two games he affected them 0 percent. And you want to give him QB money??

I don't give anyone on the team anything so why soil my britches about who gets what.

However if that is the metrics we are using then I believe 7 has been paid almost 200 million since 2010 and hasn't led to anything either. Maybe they should have invested that money elsewhere too.

He's likely to be top 5 on the all-time Steelers sack list 5 years into his career. It blows my mind that anyone thinks he shouldn't get paid.

I know we don’t personally pay and I’m not worried about the Rooney’s pocketbook but it will severely hurt our cap space and ability to sign other areas of need. And trust me we got a lot of them.

What's ludicrous is the term "qb money". If you are lucky enough to find an allpro at any position, you should build around THAT. Qb money...smh

17th game is more money. They'll add an 18th before long. They aren't paying players with money they don't have.

Folks nobody is holding a gun to the Rooney’s head, If they can afford to pay going rate for a top 10 player just think what the Rooney’s are making??????

Ingram and Highsmith is not too shabby. There is a huge dropoff after that. Watt is a punk for holding the franchise hostage.

I don't think a winning strategy is to save money on not signing your top players who coincidentally are top of the league as well and find average guys that are cheaper but not better. I buy certain things not because I assume for the price they are better but because I know for a fact that they are. A 24 roll of single ply toilet paper for 6.00 bucks may seem like a deal until that sandpaper hits the pucker hole.

Edit: think about the revolving wheel of crap in trying to replace Farrior and Timmons then Shazier. Not fun.

our next qb will be on his rookie deal for the next 5 years. by that time minkah and watt will be about to end theirs. yes we do contribute to these contracts. jersey's, towels, seating licenses, tickets, parking passes, food and drink, TV. they don't print their own. it's not paid with a different type of money NFL bucks. ;)
