Ben at his best was better than Brady and Peyton Manning imo. But father time is undefeated.

Hack this is a cool thread. I am all for throwing some appreciation Ben's way. We are spoiled. But old age catches up with all of us. Last season it caught up with Ben after the Dallas game. It was all downhill after that.

It is going to be difficult to find the next franchise guy. The Steelers may fail a few times before they get the right guy. But fact of the matter is Ben is not going to play forever and the next man up is not on this roster. Getting a franchise QB prospect has to be priority 1 going into 22.

Do you mean the week we had good Ben or the next week when we had bad Ben?

All Qbs have good and bad. Did You forget last Year when Brady couldn't complete a pass against the Saints and Looked done??? That game were the Saints won 38 - 3, and T Brady had 3 int ,and no TDs.

Well, all of those accolades, are in the past. Ben, has to play his best ball this season. None of this ... slow starting stuff. He doesn't have Hines and the bus ... to carry him. He's had great moments and a good career. But, practice and film study would've made him elite

When’s the last time we saw “Bad Brady” in the postseason?

Agreed. They relied heavily on Ben so close to having had the elbow surgery. His elbow was not right. I believe even though there has been a limited sampling that Bens arm will have healed and the time off will have improved his arm strength.

No matter how bad you want the CURRENT Ben to play like the FORMER Ben, it's highly unlikely. He's just not 30 years old anymore. Father Time shows no mercy. I'm hopeful, but doubtful, that he'll play the entire season, but I don't think this will be a pleasant year for Steeler fans. IMHO, Ben is the football equivalent of the Titanic, and he hit the iceberg last season, and we're all going down on his sinking ship.

In the last three years, games vs. KC, the Rams, the Titans, and GB are ones Ben would get killed for here. He got bailed out by a guy lined up a couple inches offsides in 2018 vs KC or he would have had 3 picks and no Super Bowl.

i guess that means we have to define "Ben at his best" - do you mean the sandlot days? He has a great will to win, an amazing competitor. He wiill never / was never a smart as Peyton, and not nearly the pure passer he was. And Ben had MUCH BETTER defenses in his prime than Manning ever had. And never could he beat Brady when it mattered, so they cannot be in the same conversation, IMO.

Last year NFC championship 3 int/3 tds. His D won that.
I mean if Ben had 4ints, and 4 tds in the Cleveland Loss ...yet people say it was his fault they lost.
Then I would say T. Brady 3 int, and 3tds in NFC championship was a bad T. Brady .....No???

I’ve posted this so many times but here we go again. As long as we have Roethlisberger, we got a shot. AND, there is NO quarterback I would rather have with 1 minute or less, game on the line. No One!

Still feel the exact same way here in 21 going forward. Rumors of his demise are great exaggerated and I think there’s plenty left in the tank.
The day’s coming when we will be looking for the next Franchise QB. Thankfully, today is NOT that day. Enjoy a HOF QB while you have him.

One more thing. People need a reality check at times. Seeing other “hot” prospects play the position was that check. Notice how the Ben is done talk has drastically died down since. LOL

As a Bills fan, don't have to tell me how hard it is to find a QB. I was graduating HS when the Bills were losing all those SB's. Then 2+ decades of garbage at QB. I wanted Rosen over Allen in the draft and almost threw my remote through the TV. Most Bills fans are already sold on Allen, but I need to see that last year was not some kind of fluke. Either way, Allen is the best Bills QB since Kelly.

Big Ben has been great, and once he's gone, trust me, it sucks...

They could have drafted Lamar Jackson. But no let’s get Edmunds before he gets away
