I didn't say they under achieved. I said that was the last legitimate time I thought they should have made a SB. I also only blamed the Injuries. So.....
You asked a question in the first post . I answered.

Exactly, they spent the time to build up that powerhouse but then don't question the efforts of the staff who obviously don't put much effort into game planning in the post season. Oh and keep using the same defensive formations that get torched each and every year. Weird priorities. It's like buying a sports car but then slashing one of your tires.

Its a passing league, lets stock up on offense and weapons and neglect the defense.

Losing to inferior teams was a norm.

You can be #1 in stats but when the rubber meets the road can you make a play when it really counts?

If you really look at the whole picture, the thread title speaks for itself. For years now.

Both are not the only ones to blame, but they are the focal point. Some sup par drafts were sprinkled in at Colbert's feet.

I'm on record for not giving Tomlin the 3 year extension and letting Ben go.

That's not the point I'm trying to make, Conner was a quality backup RB, you act like the team is supposed to have a pro bowl type of player on the bench .

They should've been the #1 seed in 2017, if those stupid refs gave Jesse the catch, then the Steelers wouldn't of faced Jacksonville early in the playoffs.

@TuRnDoWnForWaTT@TuRnDoWnForWaTT Are you disagreeing that Green Bay wasn't the better team in that Super Bowl vs Pittsburgh? Green Bay had the better QB, and I don't think they had any turnovers, the Steelers had 3.

I think we don't have the killer instinct to succeed in the playoffs. We always get a lead and try to sit on it and satisfied with just winning by 2 points when we had a 21 point lead with 5 minutes left in the game. I understand being conservative but we either get lazy, are told to be cautious or just flat out stop what got us that 21 point lead. Sometimes I wonder if Tomlin cares more about being a good sportsman than putting teams away.

2014 we had no running game and Patriots awaited us

2015 if we beat Denver we lose the following week… to pats

    2016 lol

2017 we play Patriots after jags so yeah

Seems like there’s always some ass team waiting for us in the playoffs

I am. I haven't had a chance to make a post in this thread yet. I will though. The thread is about Tomlin and Ben underachieving. Nothing is more proof of that then the way Ben started that game. I dont think the Packers were the better team by any stretch of the imagination. Ben put them in a hole that the Steelers spent the rest of the game trying to dig their way out of.

I will post a better response later when I get a minute. Something tells me you and I wont find much common ground in this thread. Lol

By the same argument though does that mean the Patriots overachieved? We had better teams on paper yet they always got the best of us in the post season.

Yeah. He chucked it into double coverage from the goal line.

I don't think You remember the game that well my friend.
That is not a shot at You. Maybe go watch some of the Highlights. Rodgers had already scored before Ben threw that pick You are referring 2. The one that he got hit as he threw other wise it...
Well who knows. It wasn't in double coverage.....the other player ran over there while it hung in the air ....it didn't even make it 2 the Wr, or Cb that was covering him.

At the time he was a rookie 3rd round comp pick with big question marks because of his injury and illness history.

Just rewatched the play. My opinion of it stands. Ben was pressured. The decision was poor. There was a safety over the top on that side that Ben did not read. He was there before Ben threw it. Ben was pressured. Contact did not alter the pass. We have all seen bad Ben INTs over the years. This was one of them.

They played the better game, it was still a #2 seed vs. a #6 seed.

Bollocks. Ben couldn't step into the throw. No safety was getting over the top of Mike Wallace.

That doesn't change the fact that there were two guys on Wallace. Poor decision by Ben. The coverage on Wallace was tight and the DB had safety help coming. Stupid pass by Ben. I agree with you that he couldn't step into the throw. That doesn't change my opinion of the play.

The Patriots were good, but man they have to be the luckiest team ever, the tuck rule. Atlanta choking a 28-3 lead in the SB
