No running game, and a oline that will not allow you 2 step up in the pocket when the D know this...also allows the D 2 play tighter.

probably, he hated qb's anyway. i think he brought in bad ones so we could play more defense.

Get over yourself. Ben did very well and would probably even won more if it weren't for spygate and a Mendy fumble.

I think Ben gives us HIS best shot every year he has been here.
    Tomlin ditto.

    Both have some warts though.

Incredible post! Even if you take the last 17 years of hindsight, there's maybe only 4 names that you would consider over Big Ben. Mahomes (one of the most talented QBs I have ever seen), Wilson (has the same competitive spirit Ben does and a championship winner), Matt Ryan (great career but never won the big one), and Josh Allen (very similar to Ben in many ways but career TBD). I can't put any of this years draft class in play because there are too many unknowns. A remarkable selection, a remarkable career, and please enjoy your final season in Pittsburgh and make it a big one, Mr. Roethlisberger!!!

You all know the Steelers have paid Ben North of 230 million dollars in his career,
pretty nice compensation. And you still see people say Steelers are cheap. This is so far from the truth,
they always pay their players right up to the cap number.

This was an amazing post by Hack and made a lot of us realize what we took for granted, that said, as soon as Ben has a bad game this season there will be post saying Ben must go.

Ben will ride off into the sunset and the Steelers will move on as I will.

I was one to say don't bring him back. But it's unfortunate that they have no answer going forward.

2022 is the year for our next franchise QB at #1. Even if Ben is brought back which I feel won't happen.

Haskins is not the next franchise QB. Took a flier. Rudolph will man the position until being replaced by the next franchise QB.

Good post, Hack. Don’t forget we rolled the dice on Paxton Lynch in the same way we are now with Haskins. He was a first-round pick as well.

I was a big Wentz fan too. I wish he had ended up with the Steelers instead of the Colts this year. Would have loved for him to sit behind Ben and learn.

Ben deserves a lot of blame too. Along with sub par D.

I don't think anything has changed since the end of last year. The Buffalo game will tell us everything we need to know for how much trouble we are in with Ben at QB.

Disappointed the Steelers FO gave Ben 10 million toward next year's Salary Cap to bring him back this year.

Good point about the defense wearing down. It's all the more reason you need a solid running game.

Inability to run and injuries derailed the season for sure. However much some act like injuries are just an excuse, you don’t win 11 in a row then forget how to play football

1,000 times this. Ben was a shell of himself after the Dallas game.

It’s not so much Ben’s elbow that I am worried about as it is his knees. If they are arthritic, we’ll have a repeat of last year. Starts out hot, fizzles down the stretch.

Then hopefully, Art shakes his hand, thanks him for years of great service and tells him they are moving on.

I doubt he will fizzle if they can run the ball more effectively, Ben won't have to try to carry the offense, the running game can't be any worse.

2 draft a player we pray works because if he's a 1st rounder we have him for 5 year no matter how bad he is. We've proved that.

If his knees are shot it won’t matter.

That’s how it works unless they go the FA route which will cost entirely too much money.

Or maybe they can trade for your boy Watson next year :hehehe:

Cap and cash outlay are two entirely different things. Seems the Steelers are having trouble loosening their fists death-gripping the upfront money TJ is likely asking for.

    Yes, we are spoiled.

We expect to compete for a Super Bowl and I`m afraid we won`t be doing that for quite a while.

The dry spell between Bradshaw and Ben was proof. No franchise QB = No Lombardi`s.

I just hope the dry spell is short and tolerable. Hate to think I`m 61 and will die never seeing another one.

I haven't heard Ben mention any problem with his knees this summer, so I assume he will be fine.
