Hopefully this deal gets done tomorrow now that preseason is over and the cutdowns to the 53 man roster are finalized. Anything beyond a deal tomorrow will be quite worrisome going into the regular season. No deal by the start of the season would be indicative of an evolving failed relationship between the player and FO. If TJ is not part of this teams long term plan then the organization as a whole will be looked down upon by many fans and maybe even BY the league itself. It won't be considered Pittsburgh Pirates cheap like but cheap none the less.

Sign TJ immediately - AKA STJWI:rules:

Maybe TJ is asking for a ridiculous amount of money nobody knows what is going on. With Ben about to retire any moment why pay a defensive player insane money when you will be rebuilding for years?

You are not winning a championship with a Mason Rudolph because you have TJ Watt….

Uhuh. And there's no reason to play with any money left on this season's table until TJ gets locked in. There are no additions/deals to be made that could touch the importance of TJ's deal. So stop the shenanigans, all hands on deck, no one eats, sleeps, or farts until TJ is taken care of.

    I have spoken.

They have to spend the cap somewhere, it's required. Who gets the big money if they don't give it to TJ?

I think it gets done this weekend, if he wants to play against Buffalo he needs a whole week of practice IMO.

Not being a smart ass, but it is after the Carolina game. And it’s still before the Buffalo game. I believe that was the intent of the parameters.

Actually, in all seriousness, I don’t know where the z came from. But my fat fingers couldn’t hit the right spot to back space it, snd I was to lazy to retype Carolina . :smiley1:
I’m also too lazy to fix “snd”above.

Even if Watt gets a contract he’s not going to be football ready 100 percent for weeks. I’m with Glenn on this one selfish BS that will hurt us out of the gate.
