Does anyone know if Jamir Jones has ever played ILB? Could be be converted?
I am not a big fan of ND so I haven't kept up with his career. Man I like him alot.

Yes, but shallow depth is true pretty much every year. (And many other teams.)

When the team started this off-season up against the salary cap, it was going to be difficult to get enough starters, let alone decent backups.

When people complain about the Denver or Cleveland playoff games, they usually ignore the injury situation. Those teams were not the same as when they were healthy and stacking wins.

Surprised by the team cutting Finney and Coward..... That leaves us terribly thin on the interior o-line, while keeping 6 ilbers but 4 ilbers....keeping just 4 CB's and safeties was also surprising......
I can only think that mark Gilbert, Quincy Roche among others will be brought back for the PS

 

At least one will be back as soon as they put Banner on IR.

As vested veterans I don't believe they are subject to the waiver wire. But I could be wrong

If Finney couldn't beat out JC Haus then I'm not too worried about it. All the reports about Finney's poor conditioning was concerning anyways.

I'm concerned Roche gets poached. There was a lot of talk he was a high value pick for where he got drafted.

True. I'm not sure Roche showed enough in the games to warrant getting poached, but who knows...

 

Well unfortunately he did. Its a bit of a head scratcher since I feel like UG3 showed enough in the games to warrant getting cut.

I agree, but maybe he's like Tuzar Skipper. Poached then cut from 3 teams. Tuzar is available now.

 

If I had to bet on either him being available again sometime this year or not, I'd lean on him being available again. It is what usually happens with our cuts that get picked up.

Damn. That was quite the screw-up by the Steelers. Gilbert didn't really show that much this preseason and he has that extensive injury history.

Hate to see the Steelers piss away draft picks, which they did in this case.

It looks like a few guys who made the 53-man will end on the short-term IR. I have to assume Tuitt will be there. Now there is a report that McFarland is headed to the IR, too.

Tomlin, of course, continues to respond to questions about injuries by saying he won't give a report until he has to next week. That was his reply today when asked about Banner.

 

And yet he is singularly focused on football and preparing for the season. Not word games with the media.
