Finney was the only surprise to me. Kept 8 DL. After the waiver clear some will be retained like Roche, Maulet. Cody White, Sexton

Definitely need to look at the cuts and add a Tackle. Banner's injury is still lingering and possibly a corner

 

I also think that with them keeping 8 DL, Tuitt isn’t going to be ready week 1

 

Why do you keep Baladge AND Benny Snell Football?

 

If Harvin can't manage it then maybe Derek Watt can do it. He really has nothing else to do during most of the games.

 

I thought for sure Kevin Rader would make the team over Zach Gentry.

 

If they add a few outside pieces I see Snell going to the practice squad. Plus they kept 8 D lineman to use for room

 

Tre Edmunds and Samuels I kind of expected, Finney surprised me, that they let him go, considering the youth and inexperience of the oline. Pickups will be interesting, I bet oline and CBs available are being looked at carefully.

No way we roll with only 8 DBs and 8 OL. Have to believe a DB or two (at least one is a CB) and maybe a OL is to be added. Marcus Allen likely to the IR with UG3 staying on.

 

I think Ballage is our 2nd best RB, but in the past he has gotten hurt.

I think Snell is the safety net if Ballage goes down, since they are both power runners.

 

I'm a big fan of David Moore the guard from Grambling... he was released by the Jets.... would not mind trying to get him over to PA

Samuels was headed to year 4. Snell only into year 3.

A lot of it is numbers and a control game of contracts.

I was little surprised, but Tomlin really likes Snell.

 

I too think the Steelers like Snell. Not surprising that he was kept over Samuels though. Samuels isn't an NFL caliber player and isn't the special teamer that Snell is. Snell is perfect at the RB3/ST role. Samuels is just worse at both spots.

Only 2 things left to wait for... Watt deal and the CB roster move.

One of the things I read earlier was his behavior in the locker room played a roll in his dismissal. If he was so bad in the locker room that he couldn’t be a number 2 in ne we certainly don’t want him as a 3

I’m also surprised by Finney… Got to think they have a lock on another guy that was released? I would assume Roche will be added to the PR.

OL and DB should be added in the coming days.

 

Would like to see Gilbert added to the PR too.

Yes, but there's likely work to be done still.

CB - They wont go into the year with only 4 CB's, so one player has to go (Mondeaux or UG3) in order to add a CB5. That guy is likely a slot corner IMO.
ILB - The addition of UG3 might mean that they plan on putting Allen on IR/Designated to Return. Which means Allen has to make the initial 53 to hit that list. UG3 survives until Allen returns.
DL - There's the Tuitt situation adding to the DL room. Plus we just have a lot of good football players on the DL. DL8 was apparently a better player than OL9 or CB5. Mondeaux likely a candidate for the PS if we add anyone.
WR - 5 WR is pretty normal.

 

Dan Campbell, HC for the Lions, cut both the kickers he had in camp, zero kickers on the 53……… guess he’s going for it all the time so No need for a punter doesn’t seem so crazy this afternoon !!!! LOL
