Did I lose track of time and space? I don't think the final countdown # will coincide with the start of the regular season. If Saturday Aug 28 is #12 we're still going to have jerseys remaining on Sunday Sep 5 ? Are we doing The Time Warp?

PS - I have a special surprise when #6 rolls around.



PPSS - Sorry guys - I must be living on a different planet (Uranus?). Without looking at a calendar or the schedule I just assumed the regular season started the week following the end of the final pre-season game(s). I was even confused during the Carolina broadcast the other night when the announcers were talking about their 1st game being on Sep 12 and I'm thinking - they have a Bye in Week 1?

 

The Romans used funny numbers We are on #14. Saturday the 28th was 15 not 12. Look forward to the surprise!!

What is Sept. 5th???????????????????????????????????????? Steelers start Sept. 12th.

By the way, Terry Bradshaw threw me off too. I think mytake is not a big fan of Neil O'Donnell.

 

Kordell Stewart and Santonio Holmes for X. Both were great Steelers, IMHO.

Was not a fan of Kordell. Although I did enjoy him as "slash" and wish he would have stayed in that position but I believe he complained about it and wanted only to be a QB. Still remember the look on his face before the New England Playoff game. IMO he looked like a scared bunny rabbit.

Santonio Holmes will always live in Steeler lore for me. That picture of him catching the winning TD in the SB still hangs in my tiny little Steeler man cave. FANTASTIC throw from Ben and great presence of mind to catch that ball in bounds by Holmes. Still remember all the family female members crying when Arizona scored to go ahead. Hell, I got so pissed I walked out the door and just stared at the ground thinking it is going to take a hell of a long time to get over this SB loss.

 

#14? Who can it be if not Todd Blackledge?

 

I was a Kordell fan. Had 3 Jerseys by him...till I came 2 a realization one day. Tommy freaking Maddox steps in and all the Wrs that everyone said sucked .....magically looked good. That's all it took. Tommy I'm a middle of the pack Maddox.

 

Kordell Stewart led us to 2 AFC Championships. Hell....under Tomlin we can't get by the first playoff game. I love to argue with Cowboys fans about Romo. Kordell Stewart was a million times more successful than brilliant Romo.

 

No Bill lead us 2 two AFC Championships. He also lead us 2 three more if I'm thinking correct with 2 other Qbs.
Remember that pass in against Denver that was picked....how Bill Romanowski keep pointing at his head saying how dumb Kordell was.

One of my favorite Steeler moments involved Tommy Maddox. My whole family was together for a Browns Playoff game. Everybody had given up when the Browns had a 2-3 TD lead. My niece and me were only two still watching the game as everybody else gave up and were walking outside depressed. Maddox started throwing darts. She would hit me harder and harder the closer we got to the Browns. When we took the lead she knocked me off the chair. Actually got a bruise from it. They heard us screaming outside and they all came running back in. A great moment for us in Steeler Playoff history!!!!

 

Which part do you disagree with. That why I hate the disagree button. I don't think I've ever used it.

 

Tomlin can't lead us past the first playoff game with a HOF QB. I don't see your point. Ben sucked much worse vs Jax and Cleveland than Kordell did vs Broncos.

 

My bad. I was thrown off because I always thought that was a Roman ordering 5 beers.

 

Point is Kordell didn't lead us ....Bill C did. Hell He lead us 2 three more AFC Championships with 2 more different Qbs.
You would think our Wrs being the Laughing stock of the NFL at one point back then ....Don't tell me You didn't hear how all our Wrs were basically bust at that point....then Middle of the Pact Tommy Maddox steps in , only change...., and our Wrs are great. Only took a change Qbs.

 

And Maddox never made it past the divisional round. Kordell has 2 AFC Championships on his resume....which is bronze medals according to Colin Cowherd... LOLOLOL

 

Neil O'Donnell has a silver medal. Hahahahat

 

Didn't play as long as Kordell did he??? At least not with us.
Thats the thing about those kinds of Qbs...Wrs really don't like playing with them. Of course they don't say it out loud, but their trying 2 escape them by leaving for other teams, and Not going 2 those type of Qbs in the free agency market unless way over paid says all You need 2 know.
